"Alaric, Alaric, Alaric!" Nix runs up behind and covers Ala's eyes with his hands. "Guess who~"
“Nix? I began to think I might never see you again.”
It was a happy surprise, of course; Alaric was adoring of the siren.

The anger in Tristam’s eyes was clear as day as Ava accused him of loosing his mind and senses. He knew he was a man in love but he would like to have some dignity that siren or not, Nix didn’t have him head over heels. However, he would never admit to Ava that he was in love with Nix, defiantly not after this display of her actions.
“I can think just fine lass, and I see you are harming a fellow sailor. Leave him be, we’re but friends….” Tristam stated as he watched Nix, whom had narrowed his eyes at him in a glare due to his words. As Ava turned the knife on the pirate, Tristam held his hands up in surrender. He didn’t want to pull out a weapon of his own because it would only be provoking Ava’s anger. He was very much relived when he heard Trinidad’s voice and quickly moved to step out of her and Ava’s way.
As the Captain and Ava exchanged words, Tristam circled around to Nix, pulling out a handkerchief to press pressure to the wound in the young man’s shoulder.
“Are ye alright?” He whispered to Nix, clearly concerned.
“I am fine, friend.” Nix assured, voice sharp, not happy with the sailor but that was a matter to deal with much later. He gave a small sigh and turned back to Trinidad and Ava. Nix had to bite his lip, enough to taste blood, in attempt to keep himself from lashing out at the stupid woman. How dare she accuse him of being a siren?! and what proof did she even have?!
As if senseing the anger radiating from Nix, Tristam stepped forward in attempt to put the situation at ease. With his arms crossed and a frown across his lips he spoke, “Ava, what proof could ye possible have? I have seen siren before and never have they taken a human form.” It wasn’t much of a lie; After all, Nix had met the man when he still lived in the water.
“Siren have fins and look much like the other merfolk of the ocean… and their beauty is beyond compare… If Nix was such a siren, don’t ye think I and the rest of the crew would be sinking to our deaths in the water by now?”
Trinidad lowered her pistol slowly, but did not return it to its holster, keeping it at the ready. She eyed Ava carefully, sizing her up, judging her intentions. It was clear enough that he woman was telling the truth, or at least, what she believed to be the truth. That alone made the situation a dangerous one - Trinidad knew all too well that there was nothing more threatening than someone who believed with such absolute certainty that they were right.
For the moment she seemed to ignore Ava’s accusation, but didn’t take her eyes off her as she stepped closer to Nix, kneeling next to him. “Here, let me take a look at that,” she murmured, reaching gently for the bloody handkerchief clasped over the wound. “Doesn’t look too bad. You’ll be just fine. Hold that cloth over it tight, alright? We’ll get you patched up as soon as I’ve sorted out this mess.” She gave him a tiny, reassuring smile before straightening up again and turning back to Ava with a much more grim expression.
“That’s a heavy accusation to be making,” she pointed out, raising an eyebrow skeptically. “Like your friend said, it’s been nearly a year since the lad came aboard and in case you hadn’t noticed, we still seem to be afloat and doing just fine. And I think I would have noticed a fish tail.”
“I’m no fool,” Ava snapped back. “I know more about those monsters than either of you ever will - I’ve spent years hunting them. Clever little eels, aren’t they?” With this she cast a seething glance down at Nix. “But I know their tricks. It’s rare to see one out of the water, sure. Some might even call it impossible. But there are stories. Tales of mermaids learning to walk, of a sea goddess and a cursed amulet with the power to turn a monster into a facsimile of a human. But that’s all it is - an illusion. A trick, to deceive you into trusting it.”
Trinidad scoffed. “Fisherman’s tales. I think I know that story, the one where the mermaid trades her voice for a chance to live with her prince, yeah? You’re going to have to do a lot better than a children’s story, lass.”
“It’s true.” Ava’s gaze turned back to Trinidad, unfaltering. “The amulet exists. And I know a siren when I see one. The way they move, their voices, that glint in their eyes. It’s not easy to catch, if you don’t know what you’re looking for. I’m not surprised you didn’t uncover this little worm sooner - after all, how could you have known?“
“And yet you’re still not offering me any proof,” Trinidad pointed out. “So far your idea of ‘proof’ seems to be a fairy tale and a lot of paranoid conjecture.”
“Have you ever seen this ‘crewman’ without that necklace he’s wearing, Captain?”
Trinidad paused and Ava gave her a steely look before continuing. Now she was getting somewhere. “Pretty little trinket, isn’t it? Must be very special. Look, Captain, I don’t mean an harm to your ship or your crew. I really am trying to help. So let me prove it. Have him take off the amulet. Just for a moment. That can’t hurt anything, right? If I’m wrong, nothing happens. Then you can throw me overboard if you like, or shoot me if you’d rather. But if I’m right... well.” She smirked. “Then I won’t be the one you’ll be wanting to point that gun at.”
".... Aandag?" Nix knocked on the door. He's been gone awhile, having disappeared.
“Come in.” He answered, sounding a little tired.
Nix suddenly kisses Alaric, having practically tackled him over.
“Mmf-” Not expecting it, Alaric wobbled and nearly fell. “Nix!”

"Alaric... I am ... Home."
“I was beginning to worry you might never come back.”
"Wait. Alaric, you can kill someone, a mortal with sex....?" -Nix looks absolutely horrified-
“Yes, I mean, that’s essentially what my kind does.” He waved a hand, “More or less.”
