What do they think of themselves? What do they think others think of them?

Malachi comes across as self confident and almost arrogant at times but the truth is that he has a lot of issues. First of all, he feels like he is disfigured because of the scars on his body. Reason why you always see him wearing long sleeves. He destroys things he considers beautiful because he wants them to be as imperfect as he is. I know, what a drama queen. He doesn’t care what others think so he doesn’t sit around and contemplate that. He only cares what Anne and Henryk think of him and they have shown him that they care about him. 

Have they learned from their past mistakes, or do they continue to repeat them? If it’s the latter, are they aware that they’re repeating them and simply don’t bother to do anything about it, or are they unaware of it?

I guess it depends on the mistake and what consequences that had. He repeats patterns not because he hasn’t learned anything from fucking up but because he likes to find out of he can get away with it - this time. So yes, he knows when he fucks up and he takes note on what he did wrong and then tries to fuck up better. 

Do they get lost in thought? If so, what tends to be the leading cause of this? Is it something they can control?

Regularly. His mind is always working on overdrive. Constantly thinking about this or that. It doesn’t have a trigger, it is something that happens to him. However, he snaps out of it quite easily and is not the type to doze off into oblivion.

"Minerva, please!" Lyla shouted as she rushed after the woman, her steps too slow and unsteady on the high heels and with the tight skirt, pushed up to her waist. She tried to wrestle it down, to cover her naked body and then tried to reach Mini with an extended arm. "I can explain that." She whined loudly. She could hear the man fidgeting loudly for his clothes back in the office while she was breathlessly trying to catch up with her boss. Could she really? What kind of a crazy desire had made her do this silly thing and agree to it after joking with him. She wasn't even supposed to be with him in the first place, not like this, especially not here. But she had found something enthralling in the idea of it all. Having sex with almost a complete strangers while gazing in the night life of Montreal from the window, the big, ceiling-to-floor wall-to-wall window in Mini's office. It was almost 3 am so, of course she would have thought there would be no chance Mini would go in or out of her aprtment upstairs. But then, bent over the desk in ecstasy, watching the blinking lights of the night life, she had heard the elevator's 'Bling' and had found herself staring in her boss and close friend's eyes. Half naked, except for her heels and the skirt pushed up and an unhooked bra around her elbows. On her desk. In her office. In the building they worked.

She finally managed to grab her hand, tripling and pushing her back to the wall. "Please, I... I..." Okay, there was no logical explanation that didn't contain the words 'I wanted'. Her cheeks were suddenly filled with even more color as the women stared wordlessly at one another. "I'm sorry." She finally said breathlessly and her voice had a scared time to it. "I wasn't thinking, I... I drank a lot and... And..."

Lyla had been sitting on the chair in Ali’s kitchen for a few hours and the two of them had been having homemade margaritas. Her cheeks were flushed and her lips were hurting in a good way from all the smiling and laughing and she was enjoying the night immensely. There still wasn’t enough alcohol in her system to black out the evening or make her dizzy but it was just enough to have her flustered and inappropriate and through the evening the jokes flying between the two brunettes were turning into words that made Lyla double take everything and look so much more closely and feel this spark and desire for things she usually tried to not think about too much. It were an occurance since third year in university and a night she kissed one of her close girl friends and had very much doing so. And her lips now throbbed for something similar. But she held it back with uncertainty.

the clock rounded 1am and she finally gave up and decided it was time to go. Getting up was more difficult than she would have imagined and she slightly staggered in her steps to the door. She felt Alena’s hand shoot out and grab her forearm to keep her steady but all it did was send a hot wave through her entire body, up and down, radiating through every pore of her skin as she rose her brown eyes and stared right into the blue seas hidden beneath Ali’s long lashes. The stare kept on for what felt like decades. The only sound was that of her heart thumping so loud in her ears she could swear it soon would break her ribs and fly out. Her stomach was making curious flips and her hand was trembling and clenching and I clenching her fingers in a fists, like a spasm of a muscle. She opened her lips to speak but no sound came out and only her hitched breathing sounded and swirled around them and stuck to them both.

It had been only mere seconds a couple of minutes, a few hundred hours, a lifetime or a millennia since the blue eyes woman’s fingers grazed the bare skin of Lyla’s forearm. And suddenly her back was against a wall and then she was pinning wordlessly the other woman against the same wall and their hands were brushing skin to skin, searching for a place to hold on and grab and she wasn’t sure which was hers and which was Ali’s and she didn’t think she wanted to because her mind was all flying masses of bees that buzzed and buzzed and stung wordlessly a word that died and fell apart and she could not form a sentence and she didn’t think she wanted to as her face came close to Ali’s neck and her nose moved through the soft skin and everything in her suddenly roared with fire. The spark had set it all in flames and her skin was too hot and her mouth too dry. “I may have had a dream like this a while ago.” Were the first words that sounded in the room since last century and Lyla grinned and was not sure who said them because she could only concentrate on the brining skin of Alena’s neck as her lips pressed in it with dangerous desire.

Lyla was sitting on the gray couch in her living room, her legs crossed and her eyebrows furrowed, shadowing her chocolate eyes. She was filled with so many different emotions right now, she wanted to shout, to cry, to curse and to find comfort in someone else's warmth. But all she had was Eva sitting on the other end of the couch, her back pressed to the black and white stripped cushion, having finished speaking and obviously having nothing else to say. She was up before Lyla could bring herself to muster any kind of response to the accusations and a strangled sigh escaped her lips, swirling in her throat like little needles of guilt and pain. The brunette's head bobbed up, her eyes narrowing at the sight of the blonde's back turned to her and all she wanted to do was get up on her feet and grab her narrow shoulders and make her understand that there was a reason behind all the reckless thing she'd done lately.

Her fingers were digging into the cottons of Eva's shirt before she knew what was happening, her slim but strong hands pushed her until they were by the wall and Eva's back was to it. "Don't... I don't want to be alone right now. Don't look so angry with me, please." Lyliana's voice was raspy, her throat was like perch meant and she just wanted to say so much but could think of so little excuses, because she didn't have them. She did have explanations, but not one excuse that sounded true and sincere. She didn't regret trying to cope with the feelings. It had been so recently, her heart was shattered in pieces all over the city, all over the globe, back in Irelan, through the streets of Belfast and the meadows around their neighbourhood, through the trees around the suburbs and into their roots, which his secrets of he budding love that had grew and grew and... And was now gone, all gone. Leaving Lyla with an aching empty space in her chest that burned and burned and burned and she just wished to go off and away and never come back and never take another breath that brought time forth and away from the last moment she had held Martin in her arms and felt the fading warmth of his skin and... "I really need my friends right now Eva... I don't know what I might do this time if I stay alone."
