Probably going ahead of myself because you're going through items slowly but I'm curious about your thoughts on memory lockets? If this is something you intent to talk about in the future in detail, feel free to disregard the ask then lol I'll wait

Anyways, time to write it again

I didnt have anything planned for memory lockets so may as well answer

They're clearly meant to be those classic "loved one in a photo" lockets, but of course those can contain any kind of important memory, good or bad, even written instead of drawn

Beyond the general "Hornet absorbs the memory within to better understand a crest", im not sure how they work; maybe the freedom of choice is merely gameplay and in universe Hornet just "coincidentally" finds the "right" locket for every notch, like how you always find the next mask shard instead of two left eyes one after the other

i do find curious how they kind of resemble an eyeless weaver mask, although they also somewhat resemble the icon for blue tools; they also look like they could fit into a charm notch (which is what the sprite is called internally lol, since that's basically what they are)

I also like how they're wrapped like a pilgrim or an effigy

Actually, found something interesting, the sprite for weaver effigies is called "saint locket"

I finally got my hands on a Shitara Seiji memory locket!

I bought the Tamao and Niina lockets as a pair previously from a seller on Mercari for 500 yen (which was a really great deal, as even a single locket could cost more than that). However, I wanted a Shitara locket too, and have been camping on Mercari for ages, waiting for one to appear. Shitara is so popular that he could be sold for as much as 1000 yen or more. Surprisingly, Tamao doesn’t seem to be as popular as him, selling for an average price of 500-600 yen.

I got to buy this Shitara locket for 600 yen, from a seller who listed 3 lockets. It was really fortunate that I got to buy him first this time, because every time a Shitara locket appears, it’ll be sold out right away.

I’m thinking of selling off the Niina one, since I’m not really a fan of him. Well, actually I haven’t even played his route yet. The only routes in TMGS3 I’ve cleared as Tamao and Shitara’s. I’m considering if I should hold on to the locket until I clear his route, in case I do end up liking him.

I just got my last 2 memory lockets and I'm like at 90+% of the game so I am using a guide for stuff like this because I don't really want to aimlessly search all of pharloom for a cracked wall or something like that (that I'm not that good at spotting either)

And anyway I think it's funny my last 2 memory lockets were the one hidden in a random breakable object, that's not particularly different than any other similar thing (of which there's an abundance in the area)

And the one in halfway home because I never bothered checking that platform
