For Mer Shockop.

Everyone assumes that Shockwave is a single dad who'd got into some baby drama since he is now caring for two twin boys but his girlfriend/wife is no where to be seen. They didn't even know the man was seeing anyone to begin with. Though despite the drama the town thinks has happened they can all agree that Shockwave is a petty good dad.

Little do they know Shockwave isn't alone instead Optimus is by his side carefully hiding in shadows and out of the public's eye. While it isn't illegal to be with a mer, most people assume that they are nothing but monsters and any children born from such a union are monsters too. So Optimus hides only ever showing himself at home or near the sea despite wanting to be by his boy's side.

By the time both Cliff and Bee are 5 they don't know who their 'mother' is. They only know that a big mer often visits them on their birthday or holidays and if they are lucky at the beach too. Even though it hurts Optimus's heart he knows its for the best, to keep his sons safe and far from danger. And maybe when they reach their 18 birthday he'll tell them the truth, until then all he can do is wrap his tail around them and hold them close.

{Sorry if its angsty but I wanted to add a spin to the Shockop drama were Optimus is the absent parent}

I actually really love this!

Maybe cliff & bee know off instinct that Optimus is their mother and that its bad for people to know.

They can understand it better when they’re around ten years old and hear the way people talk about mers.

Around the age of five they have developing instincts like a mer. Attraction to meat, fish and water.

They feel the pull of the moon but its not as strong as optimus’s.

Its when they’re ten do they develop a tail when they get in the water.

Cliff gets his first and shows bee, its a bulky strong red tail that gets hard like armor when he tries hard enough.

Bee gets his a few days later and its a long tail like their mothers only yellow with streaks of black, though bee can crackle electricity with his. It just makes him feel a funny vibration but doesn’t hurt him.

They decide to show their parents on the next holiday at night by the beach.

They hold hands and get in the water together when they’re sure no one else is around and reveal their tails.

It’s a big surprise to both their parents but they aren’t upset in the least.

Of course a no more secrets rule is put in place but the two cross fingers behind their backs on that one.

Shockwave sits on a floaty with a life jacket drinking a lemonade while he watches his family swim around in the waters.

Optimus is proudly showing bee and cliff how to properly use their tails and the best way to flip their fins.

They don’t go into deep water since optimus doesn’t want them straining these knew muscles but he is extremely proud they take to swimming so well and that their gills are beginning to come in.

When they sit on land long enough, their tales turn to scales and then back to human skin.

Shockwave of course is still a scientist and brings them all back to his lab so he can run further tests.

It seems they’ll be able to change from having legs to tails but some traits like claws or fangs may be permanent should they come in.

Optimus doesn’t want them going out without him even in the day time since they don’t have those yet. He gets even more protective of his little bitlets.

Idk what happened but i enjoyed this more than i thought i would, thank you 💞

Merformers ShockOp ft. suffering Dai Atlas

Bored of politics, Shockwave’s tagged along with Dai Atlas (Atlas told him not to but when does Shockwave ever listen?) to the Circle of Light’s ocean research base, where mers are free to come and go as they please.

While there Shockwave has the chance to meet the leader of the pod they’ve established diplomatic relations with. Orion is strong enough to protect his pod but also gentle with the sparklings, intelligent, and dare Shockwave say it, attractive with his red and blue coloring and bright blue optics. Dai Atlas can see this and immediately tells Shockwave in no uncertain terms is he to jeopardize their careful peace with the mers by having inappropriate relations with their leader.

Dai Atlas’ suffering only continues when overnight Shockwave becomes an expert on Mers and is chatting up an interested Orion. One day Shockwave shows up painted in red and blue and it’s totally a total coincidence. And it’s no big deal Orion keeps refusing courting offers from the other Mers. Or that Shockwave has purchased oceanside property.

Eventually neither the eccentric Senator or Orion are seen for a long time and Dai Atlas is ready to kick the door down to Shockwave’s beach house when Orion returns! With some very color, familiar looking pups. When confronted, Shockwave only states he managed to negotiate a more permanent peace with Orion via mer rituals.

Dai Atlas almost blows a gasket while everyone else is cooing over the cute pups.

Hehe, hehe, hehe.
