Merman Ghost with human Soap... and flowers! 🌸

I found the rough start of this sketch in my wip folder, since ive seen sooo much mermen art i got inspired but then i had no flow and gave up XD

Then i saw this super delicious merman ghoap by spiltspit and i was just no i need to finish this one! And i had better luck this time, BUT i choose an angle for soap that i so regret at the same time that i still also kinda like it? good practice anyways! :3

(Updated 11/5/2024: A shame I couldn't reuse some of the effects but I wanted to remove the background if possible, not to mention I wanted to make the fish bone part stand out a bit more.)

This random oc is more of a swamp monster than an actual character. I just got this really cool idea for some kind of zombie merman sort of thing and went with it since it's not something you see very often. And ooo boy, it was a chore placing each and every fish bone and resizing it as I went down the tail but the overall look was totally worth it! I also haven't made a green colored oc yet for my male characters so there's that too. Originally I was going to make this a female but had to remind myself that I don't have as many random male oc's as I do female ones which is why I went ahead and made it a guy. I'm pretty happy my best friend suggested adding barnacles too because it adds a nice touch. Lastly, a shame I couldn't add some scales but I figured the tail is eye catching enough with all those tiny bones so eventually I'll have to draw some kind of actual mermaid since its been awhile!
