Got a chance to ride some 1930’s rolling stock today :3

Was only going to go up to have a look from the outside as tickets were sold out online, happened to get talking to a family on the train up who happened to have a spare ticket and offered it to me for a return trip - feeling incredibly lucky for that.

Had a lovely ride between Amersham & Harrow on the Hill and back. Also taking advantage now of the Chiltern service back into town

Contrasts at West Hampstead. In 1978, a Metropolitan Line A stock train heads for Baker Street, overtaking a Bakerloo Line 1938 stock train bound for Elephant & Castle. In 2022, a Metropolitan Line S stock train heads for Baker Street, overtaking a Jubilee Line 1996 stock train bound for Stratford.

The Chess Valley

On this day I took a walk between two London Underground stations, Rickmansworth and Chesham, on the Metropolitan Line through the Chess Valley. Does the fact that the London Underground railway system comes out to the Chess Valley make this countryside part of London? I suspect technically this is Buckinghamshire but whatever it is always nice to see some green when you live in the city and your garden consists of a few pot plants.

I’ve just got around to watching the new ep of Ted Lasso, I’m like 8 minutes in and I cannot stop thinking about how they used the wrong type of tube for the metropolitan line to Aldgate from Wembley Park

I totally get why, it’s harder to show coach beard feeling depressed when the tube looks this big and 9 times outta 10 has a mariachi band going up and down it

Than this smallest one where people are more condensed

So it makes sense…. But as someone who got the metro line nearly every day for 3 years from Wembley Park heading towards Aldgate…. I cannot stop thinking about it
