I heard my parents laughing next door so I went to see what the joke is and uh. They're looking through my old completed cross stitch projects to see if they want to put any on display
This one isn't making the cut, apparently

maybe tomorrow I’ll finally wake up feeling well rested
playing a game of traffic lights with the kids I volunteer with in Cambridge and explaining that yes, even if you are on a bike you have to stop at the traffic lights
My two favourite craft items to use when working with small children are glitter and glue
In related news I need to wash my hair
Me seeing a YouTube video titled "How much do we know about musical theatre?" and not immediately realising it's probably a challenge video but imagining a video essay about how much we in general know about musical theatre. How much is lost to time and misunderstanding?
"Don't breathe until you get to Christ" and other disquieting things your choir director says
I spent yesterday night helping my sister run a game of werewolf in the dark and I can conclusively say that I do not want to walk around the house in the dark frightened of being tapped on the shoulder but it is hilarious to sit in the sanctuary and listen to other people playing. Once you're dead you become a ghost and can do things like wander around singing nursery rhymes or shouting at people. I have no idea exactly what went on in the rest of the house but the soundscape was beautiful
It’s weird when someone else identifies something about you that you hadn’t. Someone at church who my dad volunteers with said she missed me when they were doing DBS checks and were checking if numbers matched, not because I should have been there but because I would have been better at it than them because it’s what I do.
A lot of my job involves checking numbers against each other. I didn’t know my dad knew that about me.
And then I flashback to when we were doing working memory tests in a seminar at university and it was identified that I have an unusually high “digit span” (number of digits in a sequence that you can quickly and correctly repeat) and like, yeah. Turns out that is something about me!
