In general, I am a HUGE sucker for villainess isekai and just isekai in general too, tbf, but villainess isekai is like. My catnip (and also rando bg character isekai) lol
So this all came about because I saw the trailer for the anime adaptation of The One Within the Villainess and read the whole manga in two days, so it's heavily inspired by that particular villainess isekai. It'll probably morph more as I play with it, but for the moment that's the biggest influence.
So, the premise for TOWV is that the villainess character, Remilia, is aware when the transmigrator, Emi, takes over her body and is supremely touched by how much Emi loves Remilia. So when Emi's efforts to make a better life for Remilia get trampled on, Remilia takes back her body to get revenge.
Unfortunately, the manga is a f/m ending pairing despite how much Remilia loves Emi because heteronormativity, BUT this is my au and Kaito and Shinichi will have their own bodies by the end of it. BECAUSE my favorite BL isekai is Scum Villain and Scum Villain has convenient body growing plants 😂
SO! The idea is that Kaito is the villain(ess) character in an otome game that Sonoko forced Shinichi to play once and Shinichi just falls for his character. He adores Kaito (coughcoughcompetencykink) and is upset that no route has a redemption for him, despite the Big Bad getting one. Thus when Shinichi wakes up in Kaito's body, he is dead set on giving him a better ending!
Meanwhile, Kaito is absolutely confused about this spirit piloting his body, but he slowly starts to love and adore Shinichi because Shinichi is the first person to show him love in this au. Basically he is low-key yandere in this au (the LBH influence--)
For the most part, atm, it's fairly straight forward, except for the fact that Kaito gets a mana stone to grow Shinichi a new body, rather than a mushroom like SVSSS 🤔
It's still in the beginning stages, since I'm still figuring out characters and how closely I want to stick to TOMV, but yeah! It's been in my head the last few days, because a protective Kaito who'd fight gods for Shinichi, who acts a certain way because that's how Shinichi acted as him, who calls himself Shinichi's Kaito?? Yes please 😋
