A traditional and creamy Middle Eastern dip, love hummus is great as an appetizer or as a snack. It takes only a few minutes to prepare and is made with basic ingredients.
Ingredients: 1 can 15 ounces of chickpeas, drained and rinsed. 1/4 cup of tahini. 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice. 2 cloves of garlic, minced. 2 tablespoons of olive oil. 1/2 teaspoon of ground cumin. Salt, to taste. Water, as needed for desired consistency. Paprika and olive oil for garnish. Optional toppings: chopped fresh parsley, pine nuts.
Instructions: In a food processor, combine chickpeas, tahini, lemon juice, minced garlic, olive oil, ground cumin, and a pinch of salt. Blend the ingredients until smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add water in small increments and continue blending until you achieve your desired consistency. Taste and adjust the seasoning by adding more salt or lemon juice if necessary. Transfer the hummus to a serving dish, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with paprika. Garnish with optional toppings like chopped fresh parsley and pine nuts, if desired. Serve with pita bread, carrot sticks, cucumber slices, or your favorite dipping vegetables.
