Ok that is it, I am going to say it publically now...WE NEED MIIVERSE AGAIN.
It was genuinely so convenient to have a place you could go to straight on your system to talk to other people playing the same game and being able to ask for advice if you get stuck or confused about something. I was just looking at the Super Mario community on tumblr. It ALREADY got bots posting on it, advertising a scam to get a "free" macbook air and links to adult content while the rules are to obviously post things that are on topic, not this stuff. But on Miiverse this would straight up not happen. Yeah there are people who did post weird stuff on there but you couldn't have links like that? And a lot of stuff was deleted automatically. And Nintendo has more money and is hiring more people. It's not so far fetched to say they can make a dedicated social media like Miiverse again and hire a dedicated team to mod the website...
I'm just tired of these social media sites...Sometimes I just want a consolidated place to talk about a game and none of them really are doing it for me like Miiverse did. I wasn't using Miiverse a ton but the few times I used it, it was genuinely enjoyable. This website has been fine to me so far but I got rid of instagram because I became addicted and it was affecting my mental health. And too many people on there are hateful and cruel and then you go on "X" and it's even worse. And on "X" you get random political, religious, and sports posts forced into your feed just because they are accounts with blue checkmarks and you cannot block or mute them or any of the words they say. Their posts will still pop up. Yes I tried and it does not work, so going on there kind of drives me insane. And I will NEVER go on Facebook. Not to mention Tiktok, nearly everybody on there is a bully or worse. And if anybody suggests Bluesky, I already have one, but I only use it to look at Shinya Kumazaki's posts since I got off Instagram. It's a bit better than "X" just because you have more freedom to curate your feed. And yes there's Reddit too which also has communities, but I still think Miiverse would be a worthy addition to the Switch systems and it keeps things organized and convenient for me to have a consolidated place to talk about games I am playing on the Switch or Switch 2.
If they were to make it again today, it would probably be part of the paid online subscription service which would actually not be all bad because it already has a barrier of entry for people who just want to come in and make trouble. Do you want to pay money to troll? Maybe some people but I really don't think it's worth getting a whole subscription to something just to troll somebody lol
