He couldn’t believe it. He was here at god knows what time of the night, feet firmly planted into the ground and a set look in his eyes despite the uncertinety he felt. He couldn’t wait till the morning to do this - he would have lost all nerve. With one hand on the string-tied lump of paper he slowly lifted up the other, hesitating it right before the wood of the shop. Knocking on Yugi’s door was nothing unusual, but it’s his visit that caused a hue of pink to tint his cheeks. Thank god for the darkness working as a shroud.
He knocked lightly, at first, as if to test himself and to also keep from disturbing Yugi’s grandpa too much. He could only hope his classmate was up right now. He knocked a little louder, tiltimg his head up at one of the soft lights behind the window on the second story room.
“Hey, Yugi!” He was sort of loud, more than he expected, scowling at himself and rubbing the back of his head. Man this was dumb.
