          She was panicking. Breathing was difficult, her chest tight. God, she didn’t know if she should even tell him. He was supposed to go to art school in the fall, had already started his applications. So had Allegra, actually. Thankfully she hadn’t submitted any, still tweaking her personal statement and her portfolio of original compositions. Because...god, there was just no way she could transfer to music school now!

          But she didn’t need to burden Raphael with this. They had only just broken up last month. And though they had remained friends and been amiable enough, Allegra knew horror stories of other girls using tactics like this to get back together with boys and...and she couldn’t have Raph thinking that of her. They just weren’t good long term - no spark, just comfortable warmth. They were better off as friends.

          She needed to just walk out of his life and take care of this on her own. Sure, money would be tight, with Luna away at college, but Allegra could make it work...somehow.

          To be utterly honest, she hadn’t been listening, following Raphael out to the gazebo and hearing nothing but the blood pounding in her own ears. She’d rather not make this speech in front of the entire Casmere family but...god, the gazebo? This was where she and Raph had had their first kiss, where they had taken their prom pictures...

          He was asking her another question but Allegra hadn’t noticed, pacing in a small line and wrapping her arms tightly around her midsection. She should just go, tell him something asinine about making sure he wrote her when he went to college but eventually, she found herself freezing in her spot. When she finally looked back up at Raphael, there were tears beginning to well in her eyes and her voice was barely audible.

          “...Raph, I’m pregnant.”

          This was definitely still the honeymoon phase of the relationship. Though she knew she needed to get ready for work, there was still this weird…draw, to make sure she and Davey were still close. Maybe she was being the clingy girlfriend, maybe she was just nervous because she had only slept over a few nights. Though, it was apparently enough times for her and David both to be comfortable with her borrowing the shower and get ready for work at David’s place instead of her own.

          God, what was it gonna be like when she actually moved in with him? If he was looking to take that step, maybe he didn’t want to…ugh, no, she had no time for this right now. Besides, it had been a nice evening. Dinner and then just hanging out at his place. So why was she stressing? She needed to focus on the good stuff and not worry about this right now.

          Luna had been getting ready pretty slowly, allowing her time to still hang out with David. Which is where she was now, relaxing fully clothed and ready for work, beside him in bed. Ugh…she needed to go soon or she’d be late and Max and Francesca are gonna be swamped and the new hire was supposed to be training that night and…

          “Alright…fun as this is, I need to head out. I can…come back here after, if you want? I mean, unless you come out for a drink, you’ll probably be asleep when I get off anyway but…ya know,” Luna trailed off her ramble with a sheepish giggle. “Okay, I’m out. See ya,” she murmured, leaning in to peck David’s lips lightly before standing up.

          Or…at least attempting to, as David reached out to tug on Luna’s arm so she fell back onto the bed beside him. Giggles passed her lips, curling onto her side, closer to him. “Davey,” she all but whined, though the sound was more playful than annoyed. “I gotta go to work.”

          She was trying. She really was. But she was way more focused on the record Raph was playing, pen tapping against her notebook in rhythm. The words of her textbook were starting to swim and she could already hear Raphael’s chiding but right now, Allegra didn’t care. Swinging her leg over in order to nudge him on the shoulder with her foot, the blonde waited until she had Raph’s attention before grinning mischievously.

          “Wanna see a movie tonight?”

          She may not have been as musically inclined as her sister but the D’Angelos were an incredibly musical family. Luna had spent years in piano lessons, something that had been helpful with getting scholarships for college (the brief few years she attended.) Many of her earbuds and speakers were worn out and ratty, her collection of CDs rivaling her roommate’s bookshelf. Music made life worth living in many ways.

          “And speakers and jukeboxes and CDs and...” she trailed off, grinning brightly up at her friend before returning to cleaning glasses. His question set her off guard for a second, looking up at Kiegan and his phone with big doe eyes, blinking in quiet confusion.

          Eventually, a sheepish smile spread across her lips, nimble fingers reaching up to brush a stray lock of golden hair behind her ear. “Uh, this is kinda weird but, do you mind if we put on KZAP? My sister’s show should be starting soon.” A conceding shrug, a fond smile. “We might not be on the best of terms but I try not to miss an episode if I can avoid it.”

          She had, admittedly, been lost in the conversation and the music on the radio to pay attention to where Kenneth was driving. When the idea of a redo of their first date had initially been agreed upon, Aurora had assumed it’d be a COMPLETE redo - locale included. So the sight of the hole in the wall diner, with its warm and inviting lights and visible jukebox by the front door - a vast difference from the fancy Italian place Carina had suggested for Aurora and Kenneth’s initial blind date - had set the graphic designer back for a moment.

          She allowed Kenneth to open her door for her - as difficult as it was to get used to at first, the chivalry WAS genuinely sweet - before stepping out of the car, gaze shifting from the dinner to her date and back. Oh no, he was doing that nervous thing he always did, like he was deconstructing his last action in his mind, stuttering in the process. It was sweet, really; the fact that Aurora had managed to find someone MORE awkward than her.

          Reaching a hand out to gingerly grasp for Kenneth’s, Rora reached up in order to press a quick kiss against his cheek. “It’s okay, Kenneth. I trust your taste.”

          Being the captain of a team of time travelers often meant Sara didn’t have enough time to focus on watching her children - especially given that there were FIVE of them. Which, truthfully, suited the Lance-Rory-Snart just fine. Even WITH three parents to police them, they were outnumbered, and it left the children to their own devices more often than not.

          Which, on this particular day, included a series of elaborate and intense war games.

          With their parents being who they were, it made sense that the siblings took this so seriously, even if - to outside observers, it might seem rather nonsensical. Especially given that young Leo Rory was sneaking around the Waverider as if an ACTUAL threat was around and not JUST the twins. But he was out doing recon on the Snart twins - tacticians following in their father’s footsteps exactly - and the extra precaution was warranted.

          “Status report?” Emma Rory questioned without looking up from the monitors; Gideon, at least, was still letting them use camera feeds. She had threatened to cut that privilege off after their last battle had resulted in a small fire in the kitchen.

          “Lily’s got the cold gun,” he whispered to his younger sister, glad to be back safe in their base of operations. Well, safe for a moment anyway, before an incredulous Emma fixed her brother with an open mouthed stare for a beat before yelling out, “OKAY, TIME OUT!”

          As if on cue, two dark haired, freckled faces popped up from around the corner, identical brows cocked inquisitively. “Lils, did you really take Dad’s cold gun? That’s not fair!”

          “Says the meta! How’re we supposed to compete with your fireballs, Ember?” Luke’s quiet retort of “with water guns, like I suggested,” was only met with a glare from his twin sister.

          “It’s not my fault I have powers and you don’t! We agreed not to use Dad’s cold gun, Papa’s heat gun, or Mama’s staffs.”

          “We’re criminals, Em. We break rules.”

          It was a long moment of staring between Emma and Lily, stubbornly facing off in silence while Leo and Luke slowly retreated to their respective bases to prepare for the inevitable retaliation. “Ugh! Fine! Time in!” Emma called, fire shooting from her palms and leaving a scorch mark on the floor as Lily backflipped away from the blast and back towards safety. And so, the battle recommenced.
