i just wanna show you a character I designed for Kevin Barnes in my Poppy Playtime au fanfic cause I'm so proud of creating him! Kevin deserves a friend with autism too! I make Kevin in my au have Autism and cptsd while Felix has autism and SAD (social anxiety disorder). They both met when him and Kevin are both 15 years old. Do you like my depictions of them both?
So the character is Felix Tran Anderson. He is a Vietnamese American who was left to foster care when he was 7 due to his parents can't handle taking care of him due to his behaviours from having autism but is eventually adopted by two loving European American married couple. Kevin in my au can relate to Felix since I headcanon Kevin to be sent to foster care since his parents can't handle him with his autism symptoms.
Now for his appearance. Felix is also intersex with klinefelter syndrome so he has gynecomastia. He's a Buddhist too so he wears his lotus blossom necklace. As a young boy and even currently, Felix dislikes going to the barber since he has sensory sensitivity from having his hair cut short and he has social anxiety with having the barber cut his hair. So he gets to keep his hair long when he's with his adoptive family which makes him feel better with himself. He also wears hair clips since he has sensory sensitivity with tucking his hair between his ears. Some people thought Felix is transgender due to his hairstyle but he doesn't like being seen that way when how he styles his hair is due to his autism and SAD. He still sees himself as a boy. I also choose mint green for Felix since I think it's a good calming color for someone whose default emotion is anxiety. Kevin's default emotion in my au is skepticism.
So Kevin and Felix love to bond over their love for Marvel and especially Spiderman, who is Kevin's favourite in my au. Felix doesn't really enjoy soccer that Kevin enjoys so they don't have that as common topic. Kevin is sometimes interested when Felix sometimes excitedly infodumps about anything plant related when the conversation comes down to plants Felix is interested in. Yes Felix is interested and is very knowledgeable about plants. Kevin and Felix loves to rant together about their autism experiences like Levin usually get angry and usually yell, punch and hit things when he's having meltdowns while Felix just cries during his meltdowns. They also talk about how people talk about each of their feminine behaviours like Kevin shaving his armpit hair and pubic due to his sensory sensitivity plus he hates that they retain his body odor when he plays sports, Kevin sometimes exhibiting feminine ways of talking sometimes due to him admiring his adoptive mother and sometimes imitate how she talks due to admiring how caring she is and how she interacts with people that hardly makes them feel uncomfortable when being with her and etc. felix also talk about how he get stares when going to replace his scrunchie that he use sometimes for housework and replace his hair clips since he can only find them in woman's section in accessory stores, how he twirls his hair sometimes to self soothe himself especially when he's anxious and etc.
I just think I made a good friend for Kevin and want to share ^^
THEY'LL BE SUCH GOOD BUDDIES FOR SURE!!!
It's sad that both side of their parents can't stand their behaviours ☹️
