This cute, novice (apprentice) monk is Earth. His name is Earth, yes. Only 9 yrs old, he apprenticed for retreat week, saying he's wanted to do this since he was "little". His parents say the same, that was he always inclined towards devout life. Taking some time to step back from school/work to explore one's spiritual life for males is traditional in Thailand, but less so here.
