Thinking about my Bachi OC, Mio, again. A journalist is investigating the "Sacred Blades" on behalf of a few international organizations.
While she considers herself first-and-foremost a journalist, she makes her day-to-day living while in Japan as a "grey market smuggler", getting international goods to Japan and distributing them locally. Mostly food, medicines, and specialty products that Japan does not produce locally (or not enough of).
Has a dog, Zoloto, a stray she picked up during her first week back to Japan.
Her sorcery is golden threads. She uses these mostly to grab things, but she can charge them to be razor sharp.
Her parents and siblings are safe in Vladivostok. They have Mixed Feelings on her career choice but ultimately understand.
She uses a magical radio to get her reports to the continent, along with sending physical evidence back with the others smugglers who bring her goods.
She believes the Kamunabi is aware of her existence and tolerates her, but really they are stretched so thin a non-violent smuggler is not on their radar.
Always keeps a gun on her person at all times, ideally 2.

mio's attention on the laptop in front of her wavered when she felt a slight weight on her shoulder, not noticing miu right away but smiling when she recognized her.
"you've been sitting here for awhile now,, whatchu doing?" miu asks softly, her chin resting on mio's shoulder. the idol let out a soft laugh, slightly turning her head to the other.
"oh, it's just-"
before she could utter the next word, soft lips were pressed against her own in a short but sweet kiss. miu pulls away with a soft hum, before mio's brain could process what had just happened. a soft blush dusted across both their faces, mio's eyes widening as miu giggled softly and her blush darkened. "i've wanted to do that for a really long time, and i finally got the opportunity!"
Thinking about my Bachi OC Mio again, specially what she was doing when the Seitei War happened.
Her mother and father, Aoi and Joe, after hearing a very loud explosion in the distance* said to her:
"We are going to visit grandma"
and proceeded to pack their things very fast and aquired a boat to get across the sea to Vladivostok, where Mio's grandma Maria was waiting.
Mio eventually returning to Japan after she was an adult, having unlocked her sorcery (gold threads) and trained in investigative journalism (among other things).
Thought of a Kaurabachi OC, though it is mostly just one of my superhero OCs into the Bachi-verse.
Mio Sato, in this timeline an investigative journalist, has been living in Japan for the past decade+ to investigate the Sacred Blades, and Kunishge Rokuhira himself.
A woman of determination, she spent years trying to find him, to learn the truth of the war.
Even after Kunishige's death, she did not relent, and now pursues this mysterious "7th Blade", among other leads.

A member of an international peacekeeping group (kinda superhero), she has been living undercover doing private investigative work and other odd jobs to keep herself fed, while investigating the Blades.
Her sorcery is threads of golden "hard light" which have various uses. Also keeps a gun on her person at all times.
Mio Sato, lead of my eventual Magical Girl series, about what inspired her to become a super-hero.
For context, when she was out-and-about in her town, she saw a small group of childish bullies bothering a strange-looking stray cat. Mio intervened, saving the cat, and chasing the bullies away with a heavy stick.
The cat, which was actually an alien called a cysym (cybernetic-symiote), requested to bond with her to become a hero.
Mio, who aspired to be a hero, accepted. They bonded and quickly went off to stop a demonic incursion.

A sweet girl who grew up wanting to be a hero, though lacked powers, planned on joining the rescue services in Tokyo but then her father ruined her ambitions and forced her family to move to barely populated farming town.
You see, her father was a drinker, cheat and worse all gambler. He accrued an obscene amount of gambling debt and he sold his apartment in Tokyo and fled to an agricultural village with his family to escape Yakuza. Did not work, they found him and forced him to pay off the last of his debts over a period of time, which drained what money her father earned via farming.
Mio’s mother was a depressed drunk homemaker, who did little to help.
Mio still wanted to be a hero and join the rescue services, but the lessons to get the strength and knowledge to join cost money. She got a part time job, but her father demanded she give the money she earned at the job to him. She denied him and he struck her. She fled from the home.
She wandered the town, planning on going to the police, when she saw some bullies attacking a stray cat. She fought off the bullies and won. The cat, much to her surprise said something to her
“You will do nicely”
The cat transformed into a blob of nano-machines and bonded to her, explaining the they are a Cysim, an alien life form here to fight a demonic cult that has taken hold on earth.
Realizing that she had gained powers, she flew around in excitement, testing them in a nearby forest.
The Cysim, prompted her to go to Tokyo do stop the Demon Cult that the Cysim, which Mio named Steve, came to stop.
Accepting Steve’s request, Mio flew to Tokyo. Here she met some cops who requested that she go get registered as a hero proper. Then Demons attack.
The local Heroes and Mio did a valiant job stopping the demons, but they were undending. Mio was about to get overwelmed until she was rescued by the then vacationing Erik The Immortal, the Warhound, a founding member of the Terran Defense Force, the international super hero organization.
Warhound helped her get to the source of the incursion, over which time they bonded. Mio was able to banish the Demon Lord back to it’s dimension and end the attack.
Erik, upon learning of who Mio was, gave her the hero name “Gold Knight”, fast tracked her hero registry and had her parent’s arrested for neglect/abuse. He legally adopted her with her permission (she also approved of having her parents arrested).
They wander the Earth, gathering other Cysim bonded magical girls and stopping demon incursion among other hero work.
Her powers she gains from bonding to the Cysim Steve are super powerful armor that can fly, a vibro katana that can cut through most things, shield that can project a barrier and the ability to project energy beams via her eyes, sword and shield. Cycisms are also the only ones with the magic to banish demon lords back to whence they came.
Born in Toyko in 2020*, but family moved to rural Hokkaido after an "incident" when Mio was 7 years old, to be closer to her dad's family (who was born in Hokkaido). Parents are Aoi and Jou Sato.
Parents are good, Aoi helps run the local clinic as a general practioner, Jou teaches sciences at a local school.
Mio was born without powers, but dedicated herself to proving she could become a rescue worker without them. Good student, friend with the outcasts, tomboy jock.
Jou taught Mio how to bow hunt, and she is good at archery in general (her weapon manifestation when she gets powers are a bow and pair of long knives). Her mother encouraged martial arts training, which Mio does well in.
Earned her powers (in 2037) when she saved the alien cysym (cybernetic symbiote) from the bottom of a deep ditch (she thought he was a cat). The alien, taking the name Zoloto for his Earth name, impressed by her heroism, bonded to her (with permission), granting "flying brick" powers, weapon manifestations, and plasma blasts.
The two now work for the major hero organization of the world, the Terran Defence Alliance.

Trivia:
She knows Japanese and Russian fluently (Russian paternal grandma), along with some Mandarin and English.
Lesbian, becomes more masc in presentation as she gets older.
Has 2 younger siblings, though they are toddlers when she gets her powers.
Initially, she is the leader of the "Maidens" because Zoloto is the leader of the cysyms sent to Earth, the most veteran among them, but she proves a competent leader in her own right as time goes on.
Studies law in her free-time, eventually pursuing a political career in her later life.
Even after she joins the TDA she regularly visits her parents.

*Setting takes place mostly in the 2040s, alternate timeline when the "Empowering Elixer" being mass produced led to a surge in superpowers among the population, in the 1940s.
