Academy Apartment

Professors are welcome to live on campus, in their own apartment building, and Jyrda never saw reason to find other accommodations when it was far more convenient to live where she was intending to work. As such she occupies a ground floor one-bedroom flat. Small and comfortable, yet lacking in anything personal as the siren rarely spends a great deal of time in her living space when she can be in the ocean instead. There is a waterway access leading into the living room area so that she can easily enter and exit via the sea rather than walking through the front door.

Appearance Headcanon

You won’t catch Emma Vanity caught dead in a pair of trousers. Even if it’s a trendy thing, she doesn’t like it. For the most part, it stems from the fact that on the occasion she has worn them, getting high made the fabric feel wrong against her skin--too constricting. She felt like she was being suffocated and ended up cutting them off her legs. In public, Emma prefers dresses or skirts. Something that allows her legs freedom and perhaps show off her figure to any onlookers. Personally, wearing no clothes at all is when she feels most free, but common decency doesn’t permit her to waltz around town starkers.

Sleep Headcanon

At one time, Alastor would say he was fond of sleep and glad to have it whenever the opportunity came. But from the time he entered Hogwarts, sleep was fleeting. If he wasn’t up into the wee hours studying, he was doing what he could to perfect his dueling skills. And then came Auror training, where sleep was minuscule at best. They were trained to be sharp at all hours, sometimes at stretches of 36 to 72 hours. Once his career was really underway--sleep became a thing to fear. Every new horror he saw in the field, each death that he was privy to haunted him in the hours he had free and drink became his way of coping with the nightmares. Sleep was avoided when and wherever possible. If he couldn’t take extra hours in the field, relieving those on stake outs or assisting on tough cases, Alastor spent his hours at home with a bottle of whiskey or bourbon and slept with the aid of potions or too much liquor in his belly. Even still, the nightmares dragged their way to the surface whether it be just as he was waking or in the middle of the few hours he’d gotten.

The war now is too important to give way to sleeping. He’ll have more than enough to make up for it when he’s good and dead.

Sex Headcanon

The first time she had sex, Bellatrix realised just what kind of power the act had over others and what kind of pleasure it could bring about inside her. Always directed by her impulses, she will slate her need for sex if it happens upon her, just as she would scratch an itch. But it has no meaning except being advantageous for her to release the tension and gain favour with another person, often using that sexual desire against them. Sex is another form of power, of control, of dominance. The only person who truly gives her question over who has the power in the act is Rodolphus. It’s for that reason that she regularly returns to him for her itch.

Romantic Headcanon

Bellatrix would like to question anyone who believes romance is a real concept. She’s convinced that it doesn’t exist and those who believe in it or act upon a romantic notion are ignorant and confused people in need of being put down. The very word makes her sick to the back of her teeth. She wouldn’t know romance if it was a hippogriff in a tutu riding a unicorn.

Family Headcanon

The Vanity bloodline stands alongside many traditions of other Pureblood family. Namely in the lack of affection and sentimental attachments. Being the only child to her parents--her mother was told she could not carry any other pregnancy to term after the complications that arose during Emma’s delivery--her parents feel cheated out of a male heir and resent their daughter for it. She’s never been close to them. So long as she behaved when it was called for, they had little interest in dealing with her personally, allowing her a great deal of freedom through their absent parenting.

One of her cousins she is not on speaking terms with, due to traumatic experiences involving him.

The only family member Emma feels she can talk to without filter or fear of rejection is Adelaide. Already a pariah of the family, it’s no surprise that she would be drawn to and more fond of the only other family member who seems to give a damn about being a human being. They may not always get along or see eye-to-eye, but Emma could easily see Addie as more of an older sister than a cousin. There’s nothing she wouldn’t do for Adelaide. If not for her, Emma’s confident she wouldn’t be alive now.

Romantic Headcanon

Perhaps it’s because he grew up with a strong feminine influence or he’s just hardwired this way but Roy love making romantic gestures. If he cares deeply for someone, he wants to show them in more ways than just words, even if it’s a poem that doesn’t quite rhyme or a candlelit dinner that he didn’t have any hand in preparing. It might not always come out just as he hoped--catching his mother’s curtains on fire being a prime example--but he will always try and hopes that his efforts are acknowledged as such.

Sex Headcanon

Believe it or not, the handsome man has not had a slew of lovers over the years. He’s too picky and considerate. His emotions too present for him to simply sleep through several women. During his years at Hogwarts he was too wrapped up in his best mates and keeping Marcus out of major trouble to notice. It often took Marcus or Lyra to point out that some girl was flirting with him for him to cotton on and when he did come around to it, he didn’t know how best to proceed. He has had his moments but he often regrets making the poor tasteless decision thereafter. Roy has too much respect for women to want to use them and toss them aside so it came as a very harsh surprise for him as well as Lyra that what they had didn’t result in something beyond physical.

There hasn’t been anyone else but Adelaide ever since then and he may not know how to define their relationship but he wouldn’t think of warming someone else’s bed.
