A New Mission Launch... Prayerful Crafters
Prayerful Crafters Launched as UNTCI Mission
Prayerful Crafters has been founded as a mission group of the United New Testament Church International Ministry Association (UNTCI). Group members will provide and receive support to enrich their creative endeavors drawing on the power of the Holy Spirit. The group mission is “to serve Christ by making handicrafts for others while offering blessings and intercessory prayers for the recipients of our gifts, and also sharing prayers, fellowship, encouragement, and tips among our members.” Its scriptural vision comes from Ephesians 2:10: “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (NIV).
The idea for Prayerful Crafters grew out of informal discussions during the UNTCI Ministry Assoication’s Meet and Greet in Lansing, Michigan on June 10. Co-founders are Lynette R. Fifer, Vice President and Treasurer of UNTCI, and Rev. Margaret Hoggard, UNTCI member and Director of Fruit of AGAPE Community Transformations. Both ministers share a belief in the power of handicrafts to serve as tangible reminders of God’s love and presence when they are created with the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Their separate experiences include serving in prayer shawl and quilting ministries; doing large mailings of crafted prayer pockets to military personnel, first responders, and church congregations; jewelry making to raise funds; sewing for outreach projects; and hosting crafting events and retreats.
As a two-pronged mission of UNTCI, Prayerful Crafters welcomes handicrafters as individuals looking for spiritual support and fellowship as they work on independent projects and/or as participants in creative appeals and events identified by UNTCI. Prospective members can join by requesting membership through the Prayerful Crafters Facebook Group at https://www.facebook.com/groups/1614655378568988/ or by email at [email protected] and including a short message about your interests in handicrafts. Non-members of UNTCI and its affiliated organizations are welcome to join the group or to support its mission appeals, as are crafters associated with other churches and organizations.
The “Bears and Blankets” appeal for Camp Boggy Creek in Florida is the first group outreach project UNTCI has recommended for Prayerful Crafters. A member of the Paul Newman Hole in the Wall Gang camping network, it was founded in 1996. The mission of Camp Boggy Creek is, “To foster a spirit of joy by creating a free, safe and medically-sound camp environment that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses and their families.” The Fifer’s son, Doug Alf, an active supporter of the Spinal Bifida Association, said he recently met some former campers from 20 years ago who still raved about their experience there as one of the best times of their lives.
Through the “Bears and Blankets” project, each camper receives a hand made “Boggy Bear” and each camper and family member receives a crocheted or knitted afghan (35-40 inches wide by 40-50 inches long) to take home. Camp Boggy Creek presently has a shortage of afghans for this summer. The camp also needs donations of machine washable cotton or flannelette quilts (60 inches wide by 80 inches long) that will remain at the camp for use on twin-sized beds. As well, the camp welcomes donations of quilted wall hangings of any fabric to brighten up camp walls (maximum size of 7 feet by 10 feet).

For crafters who want to join the larger UNTCI mission project, blessings and prayers are available.
The Facebook Group page will be used to facilitate the second part of UNTCI’s mission through Prayerful Crafters. It will provide a forum for members to exchange crafting information and opportunities, requests for solving crafting problems, inspirational posts, ideas for making and blessing hand-crafted gifts, and photographs of their creations. Other possible ideas for the group include a blog or newsletter, a member’s retreat, and a how-to website for crafts. Any suggestions for ways to the Prayerful Crafters mission can support the use of crafting skills as a means to serve God are most welcome.

Mission Funding Falls Short for Liberia

What follows is the simple report filed from Victory Healing Ministries written by Pastor Hamilton Bleh. As many of you may know, UNTCI has been trying to raise funds and send a mission of 5 ministers to them in time for their annual conference where we had planned to minister to the children, conference with the Pastors and Teachers there and bring them much needed supplies.
Since last year’s planning began, we lost Pastor Scott Peters (Our World Missions Director) who disappeared after announcing a “brief” mission trip to Mexico. Fell short of our volunteer goal, with only John Price adding his name to the list, and fell woefully short of the funding goal raising only $1,130.40 of the estimated $13,000 to $17,000 necessary to go.
The decision was made last month to allow what money was raised to go to Liberia before their conference so they may put it to use as they may need prior.
The conference was postponed by one month with the new dates being November 23 thru 27 2016 so that they have time to get the necessary repairs done and the food ordered in time. We can look forward to pictures being shared of their conference in late November.
Fellowship, even as they write in appreciation for what “we” have helped them with, I can’t help but know in my heart that we can do better for those of us that need more. Are you blessed in your ministry? Isn’t it time then that we should be the blessing we are called to be in the world? These are ministries of The United New Testament Church, Int. and ministers in fellowship with you.
Let’s all be part, after all, what you are part of here is “Fellowship” (and that’s a verb).

On behalf of the church, school, and my family, we want to extend our special thanks and appreciation to the UNTCI family, and your family in particular for your time, effort, and contribution for our support in Africa ( Liberia) may the hands that contributed be blessed in Jesus name.
We are still believing in God that UNTCI is thinking in the direction of making a trip to Liberia in 2017 or to extend an invitation to us for 2017 conference so that we can sit and discuss all things that matter.
We have received from you one thousand one hundred and thirty dollars out of one thousand one hundred thirty dollars are forty cents.

Our post office box has been 1188, and that was a medium box, but government has increase the prizes and so we decided to take a small- box that we can manage as of now our post box is 479 and is 80.00
Conclusion
The four hundred and thirty dollars has been used, for the renovation and the box, but the six hundred dollars is reserved for the conference until October ending before food items will be purchased. Again we want to say many, thanks to our spiritual parents not forgetting the children ministry.

"Mission To Victory" Is Readying To Go
It’s 2016 and our mission trip to Victory Healing Ministries in Liberia is right around the corner!
We are going over in October (after the rainy season) and during their annual conference when they come together in Monrovia. We have planned site visits to their orphanages and rural worship centers, time for teaching and sharing, worship, and much needed Christian fellowship.
If you are not familiar with Liberia, they are fresh out of the ebola epidemic that began in 2014 and almost went “pandemic”. This outbreak, coupled with absolute poverty, the scarcity of fresh water, lack of education, and the rural nature of the people, resulted in tens of thousands dead before it ran it’s course and was eventually completely contained.
According to reports, and the testimony of those I have had the privilege of praying with (like Pastor Bleh) every single family in the nation of Liberia has had at least one member die during this time. This has resulted in thousands of orphans, elderly, and homeless in desperate need.
Victory Healing Ministries is an organized group of local rural orphanages, churches, and Christians that have come together to serve the least, the last, and the lost by connecting these communities under and through Christ Jesus as Lord in order to help. As the numbers swell beyond the capabilities of the individual ministry, there is power in numbers when prayer and blessings are shared among all.
As part of the fellowship and ministering, we plan to take with us all sorts of necessary items that they lack and we can’t ship because of prohibitive cost, such as Bibles, food, toiletries, water filters, etc.
This mission is the culmination of a season of outreach from this ministry (UNTCI) to many ministries in Africa and the Middle East, prayer, discernment, and much consideration with regard to the selection of a mission location that provides our ministers an opportunity to do the most with their talents and call – in what is certainly going to be a “life changing” event, that may only come around “once in a lifetime”.
Victory Healing Ministries has demonstrated the kindred Spirit of ministry for Christ that we all seek to partner with and is working as a full partner in this mission to ensure success.
We still have a few spaces left for “missionaries” to come with us, and we still are in much need of support here at home by way of fund raising, logistics, and prayer partners.
If this is your “calling” and you are ready to say unto the Lord, “Send me.”
