i quite like the term otherbeing over alterhuman/being and even over the more specific labels

idk, it just seems so fitting

I made an Alternative Ockin Flag based on the one I just reblogged

So pretty I like it

First time doing IDs for flags so Idk if I’ll do it wrong

[ID: (up to down) stripe one is pastel red, stripe two is pastel orange, stripe three is pastel yellow, stripe four is pastel green, stripe five is pastel blue, stripe six is pastel purple. In the middle, there is a black  circle, in which there lies a white, open half circle on the left, somewhat like the letter C, and a white, half otherkin symbol on the right.]

Definition:

Ockin is when your kintype is an oc. Oc can stand for Original Character, Original Creature, Original Concept, Original Classification, Original Component, etc. It is not limited to original character in this context. This is not a choice, but rather it is either developed or you’re born with it. Ockin falls under fictionkin and can be called such. 

Differently but similar, oclink is the same but is a choice. Oclink falls under fictionlink.

Once again, THIS is the flag I made

I’m unsure where the idea of the black circle and white open semicircle came from, but my own interpretation is that the black circle is an “o” and the white is a “c”, representing the word “oc”

so to confirm, is it like

lets say that you have something to do with dogs in a nonhumanity way??? But it is like, multiple different types of alterhumanity but it is the same dog breed…. Thats othervague, right? Or did I read the definition wrong

hiiii i've seen that you've made some posts using the term otherbeing, what does that mean? Is it just synonymous to alterhuman?

Well, I never could find a set definition for it, but I DO know that it is alterhuman-related- my assumptions are that the meaning could be-

An alternative to alterhuman/being/folk

An alternative to otherkin

An alternative to otherfolk

Something other than the known or said labels; being a being that is otherlike than usual

An alternative to nonhuman

(Something else but similar)

Anyways, the reason why I used the term despite not knowing the exact definition is because I am these possibilities I have stated here, and it just feels nice and fitting to me.

I use it as an alternative to alterbeing, yes, and also otherkin and sometimes otherfolk in general-  it may as well be something else that is under the alterhuman umbrella.

(If anyone knows the set definition it would be very helpful for me to know)
