I always appreciate that this series, among others, does not completely sanitize the story and allow children and younger audiences an age-appropriate way to experience stories of war, death, loss, grief etc. through their characters. Just in the two first episodes alone, Arcee loses the one closest to her and sees him mangled and zombified, and she acts accordingly in a very real way. The rest of the show sticks to that while still allowing for humor and fun in-between the serious parts.

I don’t really have a grand statement, I’m just glad such a series exists. It means a lot to me :)

Yes! This is one of my favorite things about Prime.

There is no other TF show that does such a good job of conveying some of the darker aspects of life to its young target audience.

I’m partial to grittier, transgressive fiction with layers and connections galore, and while Prime is no IDW, its essence—its spark—continues to pull me back into the story again and again.

I’m still waiting for the day when we get another show that even comes close to Prime. It’s a tragedy that the Aligned Continuity was choked out by the various issues that arose during production; they really had something good going.

Perc’ahlia Week 2025 Countdown – Day One

Hey everyone!! Mod Nova here, and with just a little under two months until the start of Perc’ahlia week, I have returned with another round of countdown moodboards!! I know it’s a lot earlier than usual — we’re gonna spread them out with 2 posts a week for the next 4 weeks, and we hope that the extended and earlier time frame help more with idea generation!!

If you’re new here, these posts are to help inspire anyone who might be stuck on a prompt, or if you haven’t begun to brainstorm, or if you want some more inspiration for any of your WIPs!!

Day One — Yours / Later

As is tradition, here are some general ideas for the prompts compiled by the mods!!

Yours

- “It’s yours” (c1 e69/TLoVM s3 e12) and its related scenes (c1 e63/TLoVM s2 e8, Dalen’s Closet One Shot, and other callbacks), rewriting those moments in AUs

- pregnancy announcements, sharing what’s yours, giving gifts, stealing clothes

Later

- “We’ll talk later” (c1 e72), the Later Talk itself (c1 e78/TLoVM s3 e3), callbacks to those moments, “One Year Later…” time skip shenanigans (c1 e95) or post TLoVM s3 speculations

- putting things off, running late, flirting in the middle of battle (“save it for later!!!”), speculating about the future, post-canon shenanigans

Day One of Perc’ahlia Week 2025 will be Monday September 29th, on the 9-year anniversary of the iconic confession!! That’s just over six weeks away - let’s get hyped!!!!

Perc’ahlia Week 2025 Countdown – Day Four

Sorry for the late night post folks! If you’re on the east coast, anyway. This moodboard fought me but I love the result!

Day Four — Nature / Nurture

Annnnd some prompts!!

Nature

- Vex’s relationship with the wild, taking a walk / picnic / camping in the woods, druid AUs, the Widow’s Garden

- The Sun Tree, Melora (the Wildmother), the Parchwood and all its fun stuff, someone’s nature (personality)

Nurture

- the differences in their upbringings, raising their kids, restoring Whitestone

- nurturing one another back to health, healing emotional trauma, nurturing a relationship

Day 4 of Perc’ahlia Week 2025 will be Thursday, October 4th!!! We’ve reached the halfway point of the countdown and prompts, and I’m getting more hyped each day!! :D

Perc'ahlia Week 2025 Wrap-Up

And with that, our third year of Perc'ahlia Week comes to a close! Thank you so much to everyone who participated, whether that was through direct contributions, or through anyone who interacted with and reblogged someone else's content. Without you all, there would be no event for us to host, so pat yourselves on the back!! You did an amazing job. We absolutely adored getting to see everyone's different interpretations of our prompts! With campaign 4 having just begun, and the animated shows for Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein both rapidly approaching, it's been such a joy to get some of the momentum rolling on more fan creations within the wider Critical Role fandom.

I also want to shout out all of my fellow mods!! We have a wonderful team of @blorbologist, who kept us on schedule and actually made sure this event happened in the first place; @burr-ell, who was on the clock checking for submissions and posts like no one else; and @crithaus, our local Vex Nation President who was always stepping in to catch us when something fell through. And also me! I'm not allowed to downplay what I did or the other mods will Get Me - and I genuinely enjoyed everything I did to help keep this thing going. I love those moodboards guys, you don't understand.

Even though the week is over, that doesn't mean you can't submit any more prompts! Anything is welcome, whether it's something you didn't get finished on time, or an update/adendum to something previously submitted. We'll all be checking the tags, our mentions, and the AO3 collection (which you should totally check out!!) to make sure no one's pieces get missed. Heck, you can submit things from the previous years if you want! It's never too late to share some content for these silly D&D characters who we all love so much.

Perc’ahlia Week 2025 Countdown – Day 7

We’ve made it guys!! The final day of the countdown!! It’s criminally late in the evening but I figured y’all wouldn’t mind some Perc’ahlia as a nightcap

Day Seven — Before / After

And our last round of prompts!! Thank you to the rest of the mod team for helping me out with these for the past month <3

Before

- pre-stream or pre-canon moments, getting ready for the day/for an event, “before you go”, getting distracted before a meeting wink wink

- childhood friend AUs, what if they met earlier than in canon AUs (like arranged marriages 👀)

After

- post-campaign moments, pillow talk, aftermaths of various moments, differences after a change, their legacies after they’re gone

- meeting your soulmate changes something about the world AUs, reincarnation AUs, apocalypse AUs

Both

- “would you like to talk before or after?” (c1 e78, tlovm s3 e3)

- comparing early/late campaign, pre- and post- canon, the beginning of their relationship vs where they’ve ended up

That’s all for this year’s moodboards, folks! I’ve had such a blast coming up with these for you, and mulling over the prompts myself has helped inspire me to (hopefully) get some fics done in time for the week!!

Day 7 of Perc’ahlia Week 2025 will be Sunday, October 5th — and the first day of Perc’ahlia Week will be Monday, September 29th!! We are just over two weeks out and I could not be more excited to see what everyone’s made :D
