reading your blog was a great comfort to me, i felt like i wanted to cry tonight because, among other personal problems, i've been seeing so many people libeling men, wanting every single one to take responsibility for domestic abuse and rape they would never even think about committing. sometimes i just need to know there are people who wouldn't judge me for things i had no say in
Oh dear, I'm sorry you are feeling that way. *hugs*
I'm not even a man, but the whole blame-all-men attitude really hurts. It's just not fair that an entire demographic has to feel responsible for the actions of some. It's one thing to acknowledge that something has to be done about the men that do horrible things, but it's just not right to make such harmful generalizations for an entire group of people.
That's why I dislike the "not all men" jokes. It's not even a joke, it's just true. Not all men are bad. There are always going to be shitty men, and shitty people in general. It's not limited to race, sex/gender, etc.
Nonny, if you ever need to vent or talk about something, we're here for you.

@mod medusa. the point of the rape stats post is that it is the beginning of a conversation that has been a loooong time coming and is way overdue. Admitting there is a problem is just the first step. People are pretty fucking stupid and we have to take teensy tiny baby steps if we hope to change anything.
My doubts were if the numbers were actually legit or not. I'm not a fan of misinformation being spread, regardless of the message, and the post has quite a few notes already.
But I agree, change isn't something that happens overnight, so baby steps are important. After all, we can't fix a problem without acknowledging that there's a problem in the first place, ya know?

Your post on romantic attraction pretty much erases me as an aromantic pansexual person and I felt I should tell you in an attempt to inform you that romantic orientations aren't special things just for aces
I believe what mod Frank was trying to say was that certain labels for sexual/romantic attractions (e.g. homoromantic heterosexual) may become a problem when looking for relationships, as they seem to contradict each other. She did add she isn't very experienced with these labels, and only had a slight opinion on it thus far.
As another anon mentioned, romantic and sexual attraction are two different things. (For example, someone could be bisexual, but also be homoromantic, or in your case, an aromantic pansexual.)
I'm sorry if you felt that your identity was being erased, I'm sure that wasn't her intent at all. We're all still learning about things, so I hope you understand any ignorance on our part!

(No, homoromantic heterosexuals would not be bisexual sexual and romantic attraction are two different things)
Indeed they are, thank you for clarifying this, anon.

I hate to ask, but I'm mildly curious as to how my post is racist? (unless I'm misunderstanding your tag?)
Oh, I tagged it as #racism because the post mentions and has to do with racism. We like to keep a tag index of posts based on topic and I figured your post could go under the #racism tag. So don’t worry, it wasn’t because the post itself was racist!

Is "you need feminism" the new "you need Jesus"?
I definitely see similarities. o.o
The worst thing about the comment on the cis comic was that they quoted gone with the wind.
Trying to make their point more relatable, I guess. I don't know.
