Hi, thanks for asking me my opinion on that matter.

This ask really got me thinking, but I think one I really love from him is “The only time a lawyer can cry is when it’s all over”

I love it first because it encapsulate a lot of his storyline. He did questionable things in order to try and make things right after he woke up from his coma, and never let himself cry until everything was over and there was nothing else left to do. I liked that he did not imply crying was bad, but that as a lawyer, you can’t show it to your client and must keep it for the moment everything is really over and it won’t interfere with your work. People like to portray him as super macho misogynistic man who would be the type to be like “Boys don’t cry” but I liked that he actually cried in canon. And this quote can encapsulate this.

The other reason I love this quote and would choose it to represent him is that it is a quote that most likely strongly influenced Mia’s “The worst of times are times where a lawyer must force their bigger smile”, which has been passed down to Phœnix and that he then pass on Apollo and Athena. This quote is the beginning of a legacy that influences the games even now, in a game that is strongly tied with the theme of legacy (obviously Diego toward Mia, and how she then became to be Phœnix’s mentor, the Fey clan with Misty dying setting Maya as the future Master, and Mia talking like it’s the last time she’s being channeled and that she now leave Phœnix to uphold her legacy. And of course, Godot’s attitude which is centered on testing if Phœnix is worthy to carry on Mia’s legacy). 

The theme of “legacy” is strong in Trials & Tribulations, and this quote who has been passed down and influenced the spirit of the games up until Spirit of Justice embodies it.

And sorry, I ranted again xD But basically yes, I’d tend to choose this quote. It is a testimony of sensibility, strong will and legacy in the AA games and shows a more nuanced side of Godot, so I really love it. Hope this helps you ~
