Lol please go into depth for Spider-Man 2, I haven’t seen it in years but I’m curious (no explanation needed for Olympus Has Fallen).
Dr. Otto Octavius is a genius at:
artificial intelligence
man-machine interfaces
cybernetics
the human nervous system
plasma magnetohydrodynamics
nuclear fusion
and probably several other fields of science as well. And yet, he was too stupid to:
make any kind of thermal (let alone radiation) shielding for his nuclear reactor at all, instead standing like a couple feet away from a miniature sun
automate the control of the reactor instead of standing in front of it like a dumbass
decide to put his reactor that relies upon incredibly intense magnetic fields somewhere... that isn’t a warehouse made out of fucking metal!
And then at the end of it all he decides to destroy New York with a giant plasma fireball... which falls into the East River... and sinks. The giant superheated ball of plasma sinks in water. Into a river that is apparently thousands of feet deep just a hundred or two feet from the shoreline. When, you know, it should’ve flashed the river to steam and China Syndrome’d down, killing everyone in the city through scalding.
I know it was supposed to be a dumb, fun superhero movie, but it was really dumb in how it was set up and just left me feeling intellectually insulted.
