From his strong experience as a revolutionary, he developed a psycho-social-political practice that held ethics and aesthetics to be opposite sides of the very same coin, spinning upon the tables of history. In his hands, the discourse of art history is interrogated, languages of power and ideological codes subverted, expectations smashed and belief systems transformed into aesthetic codes. His work is in the following French public collections: Centre Pompidou/MNAM, cnap and FRAC Normandie-Rouen. Né dans une famille Afrikaners au plus fort de l’apartheid, KENDELL GEERS s’est très vite révolté contre les crimes contre l’humanité, devenant activiste, engagé dans de nombreux mouvements de contestations et manifestations de luttes anti-apartheid. De son expérience en tant que révolutionnaire, il a développé une pratique psycho-sociale-politique où l’éthique s’oppose à l’esthétique. Son travail interroge l’histoire de l’art, le pouvoir du langage, les codes idéologiques subversifs du discours.
