Is the key to success to start before you're ready?
It all begins with a Starting Point
The most important step in life is the first step or initiative that we take. There are many people in this world, who find it difficult to achieve their dreams but the trouble is that they are not willing to work hard.
Realizing your potential is important!
What if a person genuinely begins from the scratch?
Why do we think about the outcome first?
Why do we make up our minds that our life will never improve?
Let us give you an ideal example of how we should not think about the outcome before starting!
When we plan a trip from Delhi to Goa, we do not reach there in minutes! In order to reach Goa, we plan the trip, book flight/train tickets, wait for the day to board the plane, sit in the plane and then we reach the destination.
Making a beginning is what truly counts!
It is a slow process! In order to reach the destination, we need patience and we also need to start small. There is no shortcut in life.
The Story of Inspiring Personalities
When we look at inspiring personalities around us, we get inspired but we are not willing to work as hard!
The legend, Oprah Winfrey, is one of the finest examples of how an individual can shine in multiple ways. She does not come from a rich family and faced endless tragedies as a child.
If Oprah Winfrey would’ve lost hope, she would not reach where she is! The power is in your hands! The power to change your life for good and if we do not begin, we would never be able to reach where we want to be! At the age of 32, the most popular host became a millionaire.
This did not happen due to a miracle! It happened because she worked hard and started from scratch!
One has to stop saying, ‘I wish I was as successful and rich as her!’
How about saying, ‘I will do it!’?
“The most important thing in life is to stop saying, ‘I wish’ and start saying, ‘I will’. Consider nothing impossible, then treat possibilities as probabilities.”
― Charles Dickens
Try Repeatedly but Never Ever Give Up
Nothing is Served on a Platter
We look at others and their successful life. Why don’t we get inspired by looking at the success of people?
We think to ourselves, ‘Wow! I wish I was so lucky!’ Human beings have the tendency to be dissatisfied with whatever they have.
Why don’t we look at other people and get inspired?
How can a human being achieve success? It is when we start believing in ourselves and not become insecure of others success.
Do note that nothing is served on a platter. The successful people around you have worked hard to reach where they are.
The bestselling author, J.K. Rowling, is one of the wealthiest women in the world. She had a difficult family life where her mother was suffering from multiple sclerosis. If you notice the tone of writing, you would find that most of her books are about death.
There are many other inspiring stories which will awaken your soul and you would get inspired.
We are sure that they had a rough beginning but it was their will power that helped them to achieve success.
“The Beginning is the most important part of the work.”
― Plato
Never Begin with the Outcome in Your Mind
The trouble with human beings is that they think about the outcome. We have become calculative and we measure everything on the basis of whether we will be successful or not!
Realizing your potential is the start of the journey and then success follows once you give your heart, soul and full dedication.
Nothing is impossible! In fact, if one separates the word IMPOSSIBLE, you would get IM-POSSIBLE! Nothing is impossible in this world till you give up. The key is to never give up.
RELATED: Using Motivation to Achieve Our Goals
Make A Beginning TODAY
Whether it is a Mathematics sum, an Art work or an Ambition, you must start practicing or work towards it. If a builder never started with a design, he would never be able to make the building.
When you seek for jobs and go for the first job interview, you might get rejected. We see many people giving up after that because rejection is something we do not take very well!
You might get the job but it might not pay you a fortune. The key is to start and with little steps and patience, you would reach your actual goal!
Bid adieu to the tendency to be dissatisfied and learn to wait and work hard towards your goal.
Realizing Your Potential and Proving the World Wrong
Even when people disappoint you and tell you that you cannot do it, you have to ignore all the negative talks and believe in yourself.
In a nutshell, make a beginning and we are sure that you can achieve anything in life
You do not have to be extraordinary or great to reach somewhere in life. With small steps, low expectations and big dreams, you must patiently walk towards your goal.
As we come to the end of the post, we would like to conclude with the thoughts that nothing comes easy in this life.
You might find something difficult right now but once you make a beginning and start doing it, you will find that it was not that difficult to achieve!
You want to have a successful life? Work for it!
“The expert at anything was once a beginner.”
― Helen Hayes

What does the quote “Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant” mean?
Life is unjust and unfair if your perception is focused only on the outcomes of your efforts. To change that perception, one must need to understand the concept of efforts and outcomes.
Our daily actions define us and it charts the path of our progress. The small act that we do day in and day out adds up to make a big impact on our growth.
The unpleasant thing about this is that others perceive us based on our outcomes. We are judged based on the results we produce and not the actions we put in. The limelight that success enjoys has put a dark spot-on failure.
Society does not reward for trying but only for winning.
However harsh may it sound but this is the reality and that reality has forced us to change our perception of winning and losing. That is the reason, we want to win in our every act. We look for solid outcomes from our every effort. We want instant results for our minutest actions. When results fail to match our expectations, we cave in to call it quits. This might be the reason why many prefer mediocrity over doing something more challenging.
Fear of losing out and being called out by society because of that failure has forced many to abandon their dream and choose the path chosen by society.
So, what is the thing that many miss out on while acting on their dreams?
PATIENCE!
Yes, you heard it right. Great things take time. The effort you put in today might not be visible in the result column today, but it is adding up for sure to reflect collectively in that result column after some time.
Just believe in the process. Give your 100% & optimize, but don’t give up.
The words of Robert Louis Stevenson offer a perfect analogy for this situation.
Don’t judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.
Acting on your dreams every day is like planting seeds every day. You won’t see them ready for harvest in a moment. It takes time for that seed to grow and be ripe for harvest. You might hate to face it that your current action is inapt to provide you instant results, but sometimes it is not the way we want but the way it is supposed to happen.
If you focus on planting with perfection by carefully choosing the seeds and the fertile soil to plant those seeds, the harvest will take care of itself. When you focus too much on the harvest, you will miss out on the opportunities to improvise the planting.
It will take time to reap your harvest and when we ingrain this wisdom in our heart, outcomes will never deter our zeal to prevail.
Patience is the key to success. Some confuse waiting with patience. Is Patience Just Like a Waiting Game or Something More Than That?
In accordance with the previous analogy, it is like planting seeds and not accepting that seed to grow up, in an instant, to be ready for harvest. Patience gives you the perspective of the long-term game and will inspire you to work on your dreams & optimize the approach when needed.
Pursue your Dream with Patience. Do not measure your creative effort by the results that it yields in moments but adapt the virtue of patience and believe that your efforts will combine one day to make a positive impact on your creative journey.

Why will a negative mind never give you a positive life?
Negative thoughts make a person have negative emotions and negative actions which then becomes a spiteful cycle of negativity all around. Sit up tall, shoulders back, and hold your chin up high. Just doing those three actions will make you feel happier and more positive. There have been studies that show that people who are more hunched over are more depressed. Every time you have negative thoughts while studying or doing a paper for a class, stop slumping and start thinking more positively about the situation. Clearing your mind of negative thoughts, you might be having will make the situation feel as if it isn’t impossible anymore and will make you more motivated to keep going. Whether it is thinking about an exam you’re about to take, leaving for work in the morning, or mid-workout at the gym, stop thinking you can’t do something, you don’t want to do something, or you’re not going to do well at something. It is going to make you not want to do any of those things even more than you do and it will just make you perform worse. Saying these things will make you get in your head and screw you over.
There have been many times where I go into an exam with a negative mindset that I don’t know anything or that I will fail and when I sit down to take the exam, my brain makes me think I don’t know questions I do actually know because I convinced myself I didn’t with my negativity. Next time you have to do something you usually don’t like doing or if it feels like it is impossible to get something done, give it some positive thoughts and I promise you that it will make it ten times easier to get through and will make life feel possible. It is hard to take control of your brain from these negative thoughts because of how powerful your mind is but once you learn how to control your thoughts and are able to stir them into positive thoughts, life feels enjoyable again just like it should be. Stress is considered one of the main causes of people being negative about life. Life is short, stop stressing about small things that you don't need to stress about. When you become overwhelmed with your stress it can really kill all positive vibes you might have left in you. If that's the case, find some inspiration to motivate you, surround yourself with positive people, and start enjoying every minute of life. Stop doubting yourself, you can do more than what your mind convinces you of.

Is direction more important than speed? Why or why not?
Yes, Direction is More Important than the Speed. Always remember that time you got lost? And you took what you thought was the right road? And you drove a bit faster so could recover the lost time? Only to later discover you had taken the wrong road AGAIN? And you realized that the added speed had merely taken you farther out of your way?
That’s the nature of being on the wrong road. The faster you travel on the wrong road, the farther you travel in the wrong direction.
So, is the point to travel slower, just in case you’re on the wrong road?
No, that’s not the point. Because if you’re on the right road, traveling slower is not helpful.
So, is the point to travel faster, just in case you’re on the right road?
No, that’s not the point either. We’ve already seen that should you be on the wrong road, traveling faster is counterproductive. So, what IS the point?
The point is expressed in the quotation itself:
“Your direction is more important than your speed.”
SPEED IS JUST FASTER
Some people think that speed is an all-important factor. It’s really not. The more important factor is DIRECTION. Because if you’re traveling in the right direction, sooner or later your destination will be reached. Which is the point.
After all, what good is it to arrive at the wrong destination QUICKER? What consolation is it to say, “Well, I may not be at the right place, but I sure made good time”! Nonsense. The goal is to arrive at the right place—even if it takes longer than expected.
PAINFUL REMINDER
I was personally reminded of this principle recently.
I’ve lived in my new city for about a year. I’ve gotten to know my way around pretty well, so I’m confident when I need to travel to someplace in the city. I don’t use GPS, for reasons I won’t go into. So, if I’m going to go somewhere, I not only need to know where it is, I must know the route to get there.
A few days ago, I needed to get to a dental appointment. But I had recently moved. So even though I had been to this dentist in the past year, I’d now be traveling from a different place, so the route was different.
I thought it would be simply getting to the dentist. It was not. I thought I would arrive a bit early. I did not. So, what happened?
I missed one key turn on the journey. Which then had me traveling in the wrong direction—unbeknownst to me. Well, after a period of time, I felt I should have arrived at my destination. But I had not. So, what did I do? Yep, you guessed it. I began to drive faster. Which took me ever further off course.
In desperation, I phoned the dental office and explained that I was lost and could they help me? They gave me a simple course correction, and I was on my way with renewed confidence. But after driving for another fifteen minutes, it was painfully clear they had given me the wrong directions. It turns out the road they told me to turn on DID NOT CROSS the road I was traveling on.
I was desperate again. I did not want to lose my appointment. So, I started driving faster. Yeah, I know. Only to take me even further away from my destination.
I called a second time. This time the directions were correct. But I was nearly 45 minutes late when I arrived. Fortunately, another patient had come in early, so my appointment was salvaged.
DIRECTION TRUMPS SPEED
I learned the important lesson that direction is more important than speed. Had I been traveling in the right direction, I could have reduced my speed, and still arrived sooner than I did. Speed was not my ally when I was going in the wrong direction. Increased speed in the wrong direction will not end well. I needed to re-learn this lesson. Our direction is more important than our speed. It reminds me of the old carpenter’s expression:
Measure twice, cut once.
It’s better to take your time and be certain of where to cut the board. Because no matter how quickly you cut the board, cutting it in the wrong place will not work well.
Ideally, you will be heading in the right direction, and picking up your speed will get you in the right place even quicker. In the meantime, invest more of your time in determining your direction. When you’re going the right way, you can travel with confidence. After all, when you’re going in the right direction, it’s only a matter of when—not a matter of if.
GOOD LESSON FOR LIFE
Of course, this lesson doesn’t just apply to literal travel on actual roads. It applies to life itself. As you’re traveling through life, it’s a good idea every now and then to check on your direction. Confirm you’re going the right way. Make sure you’ve headed in the right direction for the destination you seek. If not, don’t make the mistake of increasing your speed. Change your direction.
Remember that it’s less important how fast you’re traveling, and more important to be headed the right way. The surest way to get where you want to go is to travel in the right direction.
