I think my absolute favorite thing about Monet Week was all of the love I saw for a character that many people seem to vehemently hate

I frequently find myself getting depressed because of all of the negativity I see directed towards Monet on forums, so seeing all of these folks band together to create tribute for her is comforting, heartwarming, and inspiring

In the event she never comes back, this past week of amazing fan content will likely prove a great way of reconciling with that fact; even if she’s really gone, she is far from forgotten, and most certainly not unloved

I still want her back, but knowing I won’t be alone with my feelings in any scenario is extremely reassuring

Day 5: AU / Human!Monet

@monetweek Day 7, AU / Human!Monet

AU where Monet joins the Straw Hats instead of making fans agonize about the possibility she’s never coming back, and also she got her human limbs back for some reason

I was going to go for something funny for this one, but I felt that the end of Monet Week had to be something grand that pushed my limits like nothing else I’ve worked on so far has. 

Symmetry is incredibly aggravating, and I’ve found a new dimension of having trouble drawing hair, not to mention trying to draw feet from behind.

Overall, though, I’m incredibly proud of this one, and the only thing I wish I’d done different is that I wanted to put Luffy on the Sunny’s nose, but I was afraid to experiment with drawing a person so small just yet. If I ever redo this one, I’m definitely adding that in.

Compared to how I started this week, I think this is an incredible improvement, not only in my artistic ability, but in my confidence as an artist and my willingness to experiment. I’m really glad that I chose to participate in this event. Thank you @liskosaurus for setting this up, and thank you to all of the artists who participated and inspired me to get better each day. But most of all, thank you to everyone who liked, reblogged, or commented on my art. Nothing was more motivating or inspirational than that, and I couldn’t have gotten this far without that. Thank you all.

I had a great time and I hope you all had too!! Monetweek was a success, at least in my opinion, and I loved it!

So many people participated and created so many great fics and artworks and all kinds of stuff for the week, I’m really really grateful 💕💕 I was very happy when the original monetweek post got that many notes and reblogs, and now we have a blog full of this great stuff done for this week ahhh;;

Monet and Sugar motion graphic (larger version) by MajorasMasks My contribution for the last day ("AU / Human!Monet" theme) of the Monet Week. A crossover with Frozen can be consider an AU too, can’t it?  ^^ I made this simple motion graphic using a Monet and Sugar fanart of mine as base since I didn’t have time to make something completely new (I was allowed to participate with this--I asked to the organizers of the event to be sure).
