Scary how shifts in social media algorithms can drastically affect the life of a small business. @sarahlinden and I photograph weddings and elopements with our company @chasersofthelight , all over the world, and for a long time we were able to communicate directly with all of you amazing people, reach all of you who may be getting married or know someone who is. You would see our work, we would see your smiling faces, and a conversation would start. Often, we would then be with you on one of the happiest days of your life, standing beside you before you walked down the aisle, calming you, making you laugh. Now, 90% of you have no idea this is our jobs, know that we try desperately to make a living doing this, pay our bills, survive. We put out feelers, and hear almost nothing back, though our prices have not changed in 8 years. We are hidden and cut off, and we, like so many of you, cannot afford to pay the system to show our work, our jobs, to the people who choose to support us. I know this is a broken record, but it’s a song that needs singing. What can we do here? How can we fix this? How can we, on a small scale, reach you again and be with You on your wedding day, and how can we, all of us, reclaim the following we have earned? I am all ears for all ideas, and we are here for all of you who need our services. We love you.
