realistically one of the most annoying parts about studying philosophy is how many specifically defined philosophical terms have been hijacked by colloquial language to mean things that have nothing to do with metaphysical inquiry.

p.s. moral nihilism isn't really a thing... actually it IS a thing, but it's a stupid thing that JL Mackie dismisses in like 2 sentences.  you're probably really talking about moral skepticism, but nihilism sounds so much more like what everybody-who-read-an-emo-quote-by-nietzsche is thinking when they mean 'there is no moral objectivity.'
