your pinned says that hypersexuality is a disorder and therefore cannot be an identity. i disagree with this notion; anyone should be able to identify as anything as long as they are not harming other people. people can identify as aro if they feel like that because of their age or if its because of a disorder.
obviously hypersexuality can harm yourself, but so can identifying as queer in almost any degree. disorders are "any mental variance that hinders ones ability to function within society", which is a subjective measurement. the reason of labeling it a disorder is for accomodations in your life. the reason for labeling it an identity would be to say it is part of who you are as a person. it can be both things at the same time.
no, you cant just “be hypersexual”
hypersexuality is a DISORDER and is just a name for copulsive sexual behavior disorder. you cannot identify as bipolar, you cannot identify as autistic, you cannot identify as a person who suffers from schizophrenia..? so what makes this any different???
its not an identity.. you dont want to be hypersexual, its not something fun that people should romanticize and act this way about
hypersexual is more than just “having lots of sexual thoughts” or “being horny all the time”
nobody wants to identify as someone who has countless fantasies of being raped, nobody wants to identify as someone who masturbates constantly then feels disgusted and extremely angry at themself right after, nobody wants to identify as someone who vomit after watching porn, nobody wants to identify as someone who fantasizes about having sex with their friends and family
do you?
sorry im usually not like this
