❛   did the suit fit okay?? I don’t know if you like, grew     some or filled out when you’re older, or did it fit      fine? I mean, it’s a fan favorite, so i mean, you had     always looked good in it, and still do!! don’t get me     wrong... and i’m rambling... aren’t i ❜ 

dawn fell silent, biting her bottom lip as she glanced away from her father. this whole situation she found herself in was just... awkward. she knew that it was a stupid mistake to travel back in time, but she.. she just had to, and now here she was, looking like a total idiot in front of her father who was the same age as her.  god her life was weird.

Walking over to the couch she sat down next to him with no hesitation as she leaned her head against Barry’s shoulder. “When this is all over do you think I’ll get my sanity back?” It was a long day and she felt like her head was going to explode, but now that she was home and Barry was here she had no intention of moving.

"you’ve been reading that one for hours now, barry.” she quietly steps inside the study, voice soft to not disturb him too much. the room is dimly lit by a weakened flame, and having eleanor walk past it is enough of a draft to make it flicker for just a moment. “aren’t you tired?” she props herself on the arm of his chair, fingers gently brushing his hair away from his eyes, pressing lightly against his skin in a soothing fashion. she loves all that barry’s doing for her, the constant research, the fact that he left behind all he knew for her sake ( deep down, a part of her still fears he’ll come to regret such a rash decision )      yet, she selfishly longs for more time with him, for a mundane life she was stolen of years ago, where they hadn’t been apart, where she wasn’t undead.

            ‘    C’MON ,  DUDE  —  are we really doing that ?   ’    barry really can’t help the smile on his face .  it feels like centuries since he last had a birthday ,  and he would have almost forgotten it entirely if it weren’t for the team .  any sense of normalcy is welcomed with open arms to him these days ,  so he’s incredibly GRATEFUL .  

            shaking his head with a laugh ,  barry decides to entertain ashton and shuts his eyes .  he shrugs .    ‘    alright .  eyes are closed .  no peeking ,  i get the drill .  what’s the surprise ?    ’

          “If I TOLD YOU, then it wouldn’t be a surprise. DUH, Barry !!” His lips were wide with pride, fingers grasping the older man’s wrists as he led him down through the lab’s hallway. Ashton had worked with the rest of their team to create a HUGE SURPRISE -- birthday decorations galore, a rather large ice cream cake, his band for live music, and a special visit from someone dear to the speedster. JULIAN ALBERT was back for this event, if only for a short while, to ensure that the whole team was together again. “Happy birthday !!”

“Barry!” in a flash of blue light, she there, standing in front of him, grinning and bouncing on the balls of her feet.  They’re not so official these days, and training isn’t so regimented (or even so mandatory), but it was best to keep your skills sharp, right?  “Race ya to the firing range?”
