After doing this past drawing of Godzilla's 70th anniversary, I wanted to do another one, but with characters inspired by him, but I left it for later

I added characters that in one way or another were inspired by Godzilla, but are their own thing. To avoid drawing collabs or direct parodies of Godzilla (you know, infinite stuff xp)

I wanted to add Lizzie from Rampage, but according to interviews she was inspired by Ymir from 20 Million Miles from Earth, so I discarded the idea. I also found out that there is a Digimon called Dinomon, but it was too late :/

Anyway, I'm glad with the result, it was a fun drawing. And a good excuse to draw Godzilla since they're doing sequels for Godzilla Minus One and Godzilla x Kong :D

A fun thing about ElectroSwing is that each member knows other characters. Here’s what I mean:

Feedback knows other Cartoon Network characters

Shadow knows other video game characters

TigerClaw knows other Nickelodeon characters

And Vox, N, Diligence, and Bezel knows other media characters

I don’t know what other characters Optimus Prime knows since he’s been having shows and movies played in different channels like Cartoon Network or Hasbro. Maybe that could be it. Optimus knows other Hasbro characters

it's not canon, ug says so, but like... it's still not a filler episode

steven universe has no filler episodes and i will stand by that claim until the end of my days

bc even tho none of the events directly affect the plot or story or characters, they still do one important thing; put ideas in the audience's head(s)

like, mr. gus attempts to explain how steven's powers work, and he turns out to be pretty much right. this isn't canonically confirmed until s4e6: steven floats (i'm pretty sure) but the idea is first brought up here (i'm pretty sure). steven's shield issues are resolved pretty quickly afterwards, just 3 episodes later in s2e6: sworn to the sword

another one, the character of pearl is heavily exaggerated in this episode: she cares about steven's safety, hates amethyst, and worries too much. this serves as a wake-up call to viewers who might not have noticed one or more of these features, putting them right in the viewers' faces so they can't be overlooked anymore. unfortunately amethyst and garnet don't get the same treatment, but their characters are already pretty exaggerated and/or well established at this point, so they don't need it as much

this episode, weirdly enough, also foreshadows pink diamond being rose quartz; ug tells steven to "make sure to get [his gem] polished at least twice a year." irl, rose quartz gems, actually quartz gems in general, don't typically need much, if any, polishing for decades at a time. diamonds, however, are heavily recommended to be professionally cleaned and inspected once a year, as well as home-cleaned weekly or bi-weekly

my point is, just because official material is non-canon doesn't mean it's irrelevant. if it presents ideas relevant to the canon, then it's relevant, especially if those ideas were much more subtle before the material existed. so like

steven universe has no filler episodes
