Chapter 1 - Into The Past
this is my rewriting of the FNAF lore, a much simpler and cohesive story. the chapters are non-linear so its up to you to take the pieces given and figure out the timeline of events I hope you enjoy it :) (this work was copy and pasted from ao3)
The year was 1983. Fredbears Family Diner has just opened its doors to the public of Hurricane Hills, Utah, with its two founders William “Bill” Afton, and Henry Emily.
William was at the forefront of this whole operation. The business man, the charming smile, the cunning way with words. “Someone the public would want to see. The face of Fazbears” as he put it. He was polite, with a loving wife and two children named Micheal Afton and ███████ respectively. It's almost hard to tell that there was anything wrong with him. unless you were close enough.
Henry was more so the engineer for the animatronic band that performed on stage at this establishment. William told him ideas, he’d build it. What made this establishment so different from some plain old Disney World or Chuck E. Cheese is the mascot suits themselves. They were simultaneously wearable, and animatronic. It was almost magic, if it weren't for the fact Henry put in all the work to make this fiction a reality. Henry was a recluse, it didn’t bother him much that William was the face of ownership when he and his college friend had come up with the idea together. He had a wife, but she died shortly after his daughter, Charlotte Emily, was born.
There were only two animatronics at Fredbears. Well, three counting the..
Bonzie and Fredbear were the two on stage, worn by William and Henry respectively when in suit mode. Typically, only during birthday parties did they perform as suits to give cake and presents.
But for some time, there was turmoil behind the scenes. Henry and William's relationship had begun to skew after William had found a third robot Henry was working on behind his back. a puppet with security aspects William did not approve of. He questioned Henry's trust in him, and Henry questioned William's doubt in his abilities. But from then on, Henry split off from Fredbears.
In 1985 Freddy Jrs. had been opened up by Henry after he split off from Fredbears, with a whole new cast of characters, those of which included Henry's security puppet. William had decided it was for the best, running their own entertainment restaurants their own way.
Freddy, Bonnie and Chica were made without any springlock mechanisms, but instead a free roaming mode that allowed them to get off the stage and walk around. Which was unlike the competitors at the time, who only had stationary animatronics.
One animatronic had the springlock mechanism instead, which left him stationary when in robot mode, but used for private parties when in suit mode. Foxy was a hit with the kids, and highly requested for parties, until one day there was a malfunction in the suit mechanism due to how small he was made to be and he was never able to be fixed since then. Left to rot in pirates cove.
The puppet was implemented in a prize counter, hidden away in a box until it's time to cash in tickets and give out prizes.
Henry's bigger restaurant became an instant success, even more than Fredbear's was.
