“How’s it going, kiddo?” Sokka tries, jolting when he sees the fury in his sister’s eyes. So it’s a Category 5 Kataracaine, got it. He mentally battens some hatches. “How do you think it’s going?” she snaps, her eyes narrowing to deadly slits as Zuko slinks past them. “This is humiliating. I feel like I wished on a monkey’s paw.” “Well, listen, you shouldn’t have made that deal with the obviously evil fortuneteller at the haunted carnival. Also, I still don’t really get why you’re so dead-set against the guy. He seems alright,” Sokka shrugs. “Better than Jet, at the very least.” Katara snorts derisively. “Anyone would be better than Jet,” she mutters. “It’s not so much a bar to clear as it is a bar sitting at the very core of the earth. I’d rather share the stage with a ball of literal magma.” “Well, good news, Zuko is also better than Jet and he won’t instantly vaporize you and everyone you love,” Sokka offers, his hands palm-up. “Unless dialogue between an actor and a ball of literal magma is some kind of Stanislavsky thing.” “Of course not,” Katara scoffs, even as the corner of her mouth curls upwards and her shoulders relax a bit. Sokka smiles to himself at a job well done, and claps her on the shoulder. “Then you’ve got this,” he grins. “Go knock him dead.”
