different anon! it's specifically the potterverse chars in incipia that are cliquey imo. & calling a death eater your precious baby? big fucking yikes but they did that & others agreed!
QUEUED. i know they have death eaters banned (they're allowing regulus & draco because they're "reformed"), so were the ones they called a "precious baby" regulus or draco? because when i did speak to them about it, they said that none of the admins would have let that happen. @incipia
hi! do you know if there are any open multifandom groups on tumblr and not discord?
i'm gonna be honest, i have no clue - i haven't really been in a tumblr rp specifically for multifandoms in a while, and the ones in the tags rn seem to all be discord, but if a multifandom tumblr rp wants to promote themselves here, go for it :)
Admin of a mfrp here! Saw an ask about requiring apps for muses. We started out requiring semi-apps (basic bio for a forgotten memories type plot) but went appless because it seemed we got zero applications in that format. Also I’m personally terrible at apps like that lol. But we found we’ve gotten more apps since being appless. The idea of apps is great cause we wanted to make sure people understood the concept of the group but the reality was no one wanted to take the time to fill it out when they could go somewhere else for a mfrp with no app.
We don’t have super difficult activity requirements cause we’re all adults with jobs… We do require a longer wait than most groups in between new muses though cause we want people to actually take the time to establish connections in the group and not just pick up 8 muses at once in the same week… which is the trend in mfrp that bothers md most.
that’s fair! i think mfrp is just too used to appless rps at this point ? i think having character development channels though kinda helps mitigate some of those concerns about people not understanding groups and the stories / plots you have. you could have a day dedicated to character development, similar to how rps used to have honesty hours - and you could technically still have honesty hours i think with some bots on discord.
i definitely agree that over time, lax activity requirements can be a double edged sword in the sense of like. it helps people who are busy because we all have real lives, but i think interest checks can cause groups to be inactive because people only go active once and then react to the check?
a longer wait works well though! i think it can also help as far as like. people who pick up characters on impulse just because they see other characters from that same fandom getting picked up
If you’re looking for an illustrated fc multifandom rp check out incipia! Everything there is done over discord but they do have a tumblr blog where the discord is linked and all fc tupper icons make use of illustrated fcs and allow none anime, manga, comics & cartoon fandoms too!
they're a pretty longstanding group too (since october 2021), so go and check them out! pretty nice plotless rp with a wide range of different fandoms @incipia
it’s me the 30+ muse anon. i would probably lean toward mfrp? BUT yeah depends on what ideas other people have!!!
if you don't mind having a fake memories / alternate universe rp, that does give you a lot more freedom to kinda do whatever you want! obviously, anyone who wants to help this anon out can like the post and give them some ideas, but i'll put four i just whipped up under the read more for you:
maybe something under the dome-inspired? where everyone is living in an alternate universe / with fake memories in the town, up until a barrier goes up, causing everyone to slowly uncover or remember their memories as they now have to figure out who brought them there, why they lost their memories, and how they're gonna get out
mi-6 / 007 / spy - instead of those rps that are marvel focused, you could have a fake memories situation where they're all part of mi-6, with some muses being intelligence agents, recon agents, and even maybe some 00s for those with special abilities? maybe they lost their memories as a result of an evil dude giving people amnesia or something
cruise ship - this one doesn't actually require fake memories or an alternate universe at all? maybe your characters all wake up on a cruise ship in the middle of the ocean with the captain of the ship missing ooo
airlines / airplane, something kinda like manifest? - you could have some muses wake up on the airplane, having no recollection of how they got on there because they have their canon memories; and then the ones who weren't on the airplane have fake memories of their lives with those people and all that
I really want a mfrp but that's more period style. Like all the different fantasy realms like Lord of the Rings and Narnia and Witcher. Let me do mf but without the modern setting. It gets a little dry after awhile.
that's valid! would it be an alternate universe style rp that features any fandom (obviously unproblematic ones) in a period rp style, or would it be only fantasy media like the ones you brought up? i think it could be pretty fun either way!
i actually wish there were more illustrated mfrps ... roleplaying with real faces makes me uncomfortable for personal reasons, but to have the option to use illustrations for rp rather than actor & idol faceclaims would make things a lot easier. ;_;
the thing is: a lot of groups that are currently illustrated mfrps tend to be comic, video game, anime, web comic and animated rps for a reason— there's official resources and content you can use as icons? but with other book, tv show, etc fandoms, a lot of times you'll have to resort to fanart which goes into a grey area as many artists don't feel comfortable with reposting especially without credit or asking.
tbh i think that can also depend on how many times you've gotten on activity check recently. if the past couple of months, you've been on activity check repeatedly every week and doing last minute replies that make you active for some of your characters, then at some point the admins might go "that's enough"?
re: this anon
i mean it's definitely a nuanced discussion - obviously if it's been repeat behaviour, that's a different situation. but often times, at that point, the admin has been discussing this with the member ideally regarding their activity, y'know? like having dialogue with them regarding their last minute replies and consistent inactivity? but in a situation where they're a first time offender, there should be some level of leniency imo. that's why a three strike rule is best for activity - if you're on the activity check 3 times without having explained your situation to an admin, that's when i'd say an admin can justifiably argue "that's enough" and just call it quits
