The descendants of the founders of Fiddlehead have a special place in the town and its history. They keep in contact with each other and other long-time residents, and those who move away have a habit of being drawn back home over time. First names are changeable, though last names are preferred to remain the same as their Founder. Species that are listed here are what their ancestor was, but a lot could have changed since then. There are only two slots left available, and gender/faces/ages are super open!
The Hamilton Descendant
20’s-30’s / human / any pronouns / any face
A scotsman of some renown at the time, Lucius Hamilton was a navy man who retired to Fiddlehead in 1822 with a new wife. Their deaths were never recorded, and many speculate now that perhaps they became vampires before their departure. Hunting for the lost Hamilton Crypt is a common Summer pastime for outdoorsy Fiddlehead teens who want to traipse around in the woods with friends, and the current Hamilton heir(s) may or may not have given up on chasing them off their private property.
The Greene Descendant
20’s-30’s / Witch or Psychic / any pronouns / any face
Isobel Greene was a healer who constructed the geodesic dome still in use as a haven by the local witch circle in Fiddlehead. Her descendants are incredibly open, and we welcome you to build out a single founder or work together to create a family of descendants with other players.
Check out the other founder’s descendants and other information on the site here.
The Pilgrim Circle
The witch circle in Fiddlehead has been established since the late 1800s and gone through several conductors. This latest transition of power in 2018 was a bit of a surprise to some of the locals who'd grown up in town. Now Fiddlehead witches are trying to see where they fit in this newest iteration of their circle. Ages, genders, faces are all fairly flexible!
The Pedigreed Adept
40+ / witch adept
A Fiddlehead local whose family line goes back nearly as far as the town's founding. As an accomplished witch and a legacy member of the circle, they expected to be named as Moira Gloome's successor. Now they feel slighted and overlooked, but Moira isn't in town anymore... their ire can only be directed within the circle – and its new conductor.
The Peacekeeper Adept
40+ / witch adept
Sometimes the rest of the adepts and its conductor can be intimidating or a little too spicy, but the Peacekeeper is always there for a patient ear and a gentle approach. They aim to keep the peace within the circle and help everyone feel welcome.
The New Adept
30+ / witch adept
They just became an adept and now are eager to prove their skills – and maybe show off a little in the hopes of getting the praise they feel is their due. It isn't enough to be have two magical foci, everyone needs to know about it!
The Healer Caster
30+ / witch caster
A Naturalist in love with nature and invested in seeing caring for both the environment and people in equal measure. They see the value and good in all things and strive to nurture it.
The Overcautious Caster
30+ / witch caster
They lost control of their magic once and someone got hurt. It was an accident, but they carry tremendous guilt. Ever since, they have been fearful of their own abilities –– often to their detriment.
The Outsider Caster
30+ / witch caster
This witch came to Fiddlehead from a different circle and they are not quite sure this is truly the place they belong. They don't feel like they fit in, but this circle is still better than where they came from.
The Non-Believer Acolyte
20+ / witch acolyte
This acolyte was dedicated to the pursuit of science and reason above all things, eschewing any belief in the supposed supernatural. But when PAS started coming out of the woodwork, it became clear they had magical aptitude. Now, even as they begin to grow their skills, they are still struggling with this new reality.
The Late Bloomer Acolyte
50+ / witch acolyte
This witch didn't discover their magical abilities until their golden years. Now they are simply trying to keep up with all these kids in magical studies!
The Enchanter Acolyte
20+ / witch acolyte
They desperately want to do flashy magic like summoning or pyromancy, but they have only been able to achieve that kind of spellwork with the support of group castings. On their own, they feel stuck only able to successfully make potions and enchant small trinkets.

They're the enormous werewolf family with the pun names! Seven children of the mercurial, often-absent and now deceased Joan Hart… and their dad who has no idea they exist (more on that later.) Their mother was, technically, the alpha of the Fiddlehead pack for most of their childhoods, but since she often was away on "business trips" for the Hart Dairy Farm, she left the eldest siblings in charge of family and pack alike.
This plot is kind of like if Shameless was set in a sleepy small town and had werewolves. Maybe a little less dysfunctional, but the sibling fights did involve claws and flying fur. Face claims are very, very open and if you're really feeling a different gender for a character, we can definitely tweak that. However, because of the sheer amount of kids and the math tied to specific timelines, the ages listed are not possible to change.
There are currently five slots still available in the Hart Request:
Noble Hart
28 / werewolf / he/him / suggested face: Kris Kidd
Spitfire in the family, who worshiped their mother and wanted to be like her. He's sort of succeeded, too. In distinct contrast to his name, Craven is a daredevil who rarely thinks of consequences or practical solutions. When their mom died, Craven's rage sparked and has yet to die down. Right now, he's dealing with the loss by consistently going out of town to get Hart Farms contracts around the Pacific Northwest.
Rebel Hart
21 / werewolf / she/her / suggested face: Millie Bobby Brown
Shy, sweet-natured Rebel tends to fade to the background in most situations. She can be goaded into following along with her more adventurous siblings, especially Craven, but otherwise likes to keep to herself. She's used to taking up very little space in a crowded family.
Earnest Hart
19 / werewolf / he/him / suggested face: Wyatt Oleff
Serious and studious as his eldest brother, Earnest always has his head in a book. He's currently a freshman at Ashleigh University and is finally getting to learn how to live independently in the dorms.
Ceane Hart
18 / werewolf / he/him / suggested face: Finn Little (twins with abel)
The twins are both Golden Retriever coded, but Ceane especially so. Even though he's eighteen, he still gets treated like the baby in the family and doesn't mind that at all. At his core, Ceane is good-natured and a little goofy. Because he's younger, he mostly has fond and uncomplicated memories of his mother.
Abel Hart
18 / werewolf / he/him / suggested face: Finn Little (twins with ceane)
Golden Retriever: The Remix. Abel is excitable and energetic. He's probably the most sporty member of the family and loves the outdoors. He's never been outside of Oregon, but has a lot of wanderlust. As a twin, it's hard to imagine leaving Fiddlehead without Ceane … and he hasn't brought it up yet.
mystery dad to all them kids
55-60 yrs old / any species / he/him / suggested face: jude law
This man had been having a consistent whirlwind romance with a mercurial woman who only comes into his hometown once in a blue moon. He was lucky to see her for the span of a week maybe two or three times a year. And then one day, she simply stopped coming.
He has no idea that Joan would disappear back to her family and her kids –– their kids. Until he tries out one of those genetics tests… and matches with Blythe and Pierce. As their parent. When he comes to Fiddlehead to meet his apparent two children and find out what happened to Joan, he has no idea there are five more kids.
