so much to chew on w how joint suffering Makes People after they get out of it. this is especially juicy to me if the Characters were introduced to each other as a direct result of the horrors. you learned everything about me at my worst and against my will so how do i get better again if you’re watching. there’s no one else in the world who understands a fraction of what you know of me. i see your wounds beneath your shirt. you know how i scream. your face is in all of my nightmares. if anyone tried to take you from me i would be undone. no notes !

Whump things that have been plaguing my brain <3

Whumper backhanding Whumpee every time they speak, so Whumpee has to stay completely silent.

Whumpee A knows some sensitive, confidential information and Whumpee B is A's [insert relationship type here], so Whumper kidnaps both and tortures B to get A to talk.

Whumpee is on the floor, lying on their side. Whumper walks up to them and kicks them HARD. Whumpee wraps their arms around their middle, curling up protectively.

Whumpee being presented to Whumper by henchmen. Whumpee is standing in front of Whumper with their hands tied behind their back. Henchman aims a kick at the back of Whumpee's knees, causing them to fall to their knees painfully. Henchman puts a strong hand on Whumpee's shoulder, preventing them from getting back up.

Whumpee sharing the whump with Caretaker. Whumpee, still very traumatised, struggles to get it out. Caretaker patiently waits and gently reminds Whumpee that they don't have to talk about it if they're not ready.

Whumpee A is an older sibling, and Whumpee B is a younger one. They are both locked in a cell. Whenever Whumper or a henchman comes in, A pulls B behind them, hiding their younger sibling protectively

Whumper is constantly touching Whumpee - pulling their hair, grabbing their chin, resting their hands on their waist, squeezing their thighs.

Whumpee has magic and is kept in a cell where the bars are made of a thing that weakens them (gives them headaches, makes their body weak, chronic pain etc). They can't touch the bars because it burns them. Whenever they get taken out, they are tortured, humiliated, hurt in some way. When they get put back in their cell, they get hit with more pain. They get no relief.

"Just... leave him alone, will you!?" Carewhumpee finally snapped after minutes of watching in silence, struggling against his bonds with a vigor Whumper hadn't seen in months.

"Oh?" Whumper pauses his assault on Whumpee to look over at Carewhumpee, eyes lit up like a child on Christmas day. "Does this bother you?"

Both Whumpees freeze in fear.

"I-I'm fine. I mean come on, it's nothing compared to what you went through."

"??? Did I miss the part where we entered some trauma competition? I'm allowed to worry about you just as much as you worry about me!"

Captive whumpee is pretty sure whumper is all bark, no bite. They never really hurt whumpee, and every time whumpee angers them, they simply leave. Whumpee can be defiant and sarcastic with impunity.

One day, whumpee escapes their room, and comes across another while trying to find their way out. Here, they find other whumpee, beaten and tortured, far too weak to attempt escape themselves.

"You're alright," other whumpee says upon seeing them, clearly relieved. "Whumper kept their word."

Whumper notices Whumpee getting less and less fun to play with... so, they decide to get them a Whumpee of their own!

Does Whumpee abuse them? Take out all their pent-up rage towards Whumper out on them? Scream, "I hate you!" through bitter tears, pretending this poor soul was really the one who did everything?

Does Whumpee protect them? Hold them close, glare at Whumper, and tell them, "I'll keep you safe,"? See them as something that could give them a sense of control, a pillar of normalcy?

Does Whumpee need them? Cling to them like a scared animal, and whimper, "Y-You don't know what they've done to me," when the new Whumpee nervously asks them what's wrong?

Does Whumper use this relationship to their advantage? Do they hurt the new Whumpee in front of the old, to revel in their reaction? The broken laughter, or pure anger, or strained relief? Or even kill them? To see the final glint of hope fizzle from Whumpee's eyes as they realize they are really, truly alone?

Several living weapons conditioned to be like a pack of rabid dogs. They are uniquely deadly, and whoever ends up in their path better pray they are killed quickly. They work in perfect unison and watching each other obey keeps them in line.

That is, until their loyalty to each other surpasses the loyalty they have for their handlers. They were trained to imprint on each other, to act how the others do. So when a handler raises their hand against one of them, they retaliate.

Their handlers are torn apart before they are able to fight back in any way, and now the pack is free, without anyone telling them who or what to attack next. But it is only a matter of time.

whumpee who was extensively sexually abused on some kind of captivity or ongoing situation they had no ability or power to leave, or by people they had to be around and were made to feel they couldn't say no to. they're deeply traumatized, and it took them a long time to trust their new team/friends/the people around them now. but they do. they trust those people, they know they're safe, and even when they don't know, they're helped to remember with reminders, with ongoing, constant proof every day.

and then they run into someone they knew before, back when it was bad. maybe it's someone else who was being abused in the same way, or someone who knew what was happening but also couldn't stop it for reasons out of their control. and this person regards whumpee's new people with nothing less than unbridled suspicion. and whumpee is the one to reassure them - it's okay. it's not like that anymore. they... they're good to me. they take care of me. they trust me, and i trust them. nobody- nobody fucks me anymore. nobody makes me... do things. they're safe. i'm safe.

all the while their new team/etc watches, astonished. maybe they didn't know the extent of the abuse. maybe they didn't know anyone else knew. maybe it's just shocking to hear whumpee discussing it so openly, and professing such profound faith in them, such trust. they're determined to keep earning it - keep deserving it. they're going to keep proving that everything whumpee said was true.
