Murong Yao had nothing except audacity until the end, I couldn't believe he went "I suffered too when I buried you, Feng Suige", I was literally here all like:
i am LIVING for murong yao's immediate hard reset of everything he's been assuming about fang duobing--and, by extension, li lianhua--as a result of fang duobing interceding on behalf of the girls at the mansion.
like damn, mysterious lotus casebook really rewards viewers who decide to rewatch the show a second time, and the girls' mansion arc is just the latest example!! because knowing what we know about murong yao and his connection to chilong, of course he would look at both li lianhua and fang duobing with contempt during their initial meeting on the pier; as far as he knows, they're here to prey on the women and girls who are trapped in this mansion, and if that's the case, he clearly would not piss on either of them if they were on fire. but the second he realizes that this is not what fang duobing is about, you can see the change in his opinion reflected in his expression right away!!
i just love this show so much 🥹
Is anyone else having feelings about the fact that one of Murong Yao’s main motivations for being a rebel (other than to protect his dad) was because he was so jealous that his dad seemed to care about Feng Suige more than him and put him first because he was the prince, because he rescued him first when they were both kids?
And then, when his dad brutally murders Feng Suige in front of him, Murong Yao realizes first hand and in the most horrifying way imaginable that his dad did actually care about him more, and that his dad was even willing to violate his principles and become a rebel and help kill the emperor.
Just, the way he only stabs Feng Suige when Feng Suige is aiming for his dad’s heart, and even then is crying, and then dissociating as his dad yells at him to kill him—the way he is realizing how many things he was wrong about, the way he’s realizing he was always loved but maybe it would have been better if he hadn’t been—it is SO PAINFUL and so well done!
Me at a party hyping up my friends while they dance... 🤣

Murong Yao is swept along to party with the queer people at Four Seasons Manor for Mid Autumn Festival. He likes it much better than he would have expected -- until Li Lianhua brings the weird mooncakes.
Happy Mid Autumn Festival!
for @busarewski who wanted DFS to sing this particular song to LLH
