Leah hated fairies. She had hated them ever since one cursed her daughter. She refused to acknowledge that the reason for the curse was her own husband’s infidelity and revenge for the wings he carved from a fairy’s back. She hated them, but she had tolerated them...until the day she learned the moors had a princess, one who would succeed her mother as the new monarch of the Fae.
It hadn’t taken much, a few whispers, some coins traded with rebel rousers to start spreading word that the Fae Kingdom had their eye on the Auradon throne. Stefan had made for the capitol seeking an audience with King Adam. A few panicked words, faked reports of fae movement past the borders of the moors, all backed by the discord now stirring in the towns about the fae being evil and wanting to wipe out the world of men. Even Leah would admit, it was surprisingly easy to convince King Adam to send soldiers in search of the gates to the Fae Kingdom and kill Maleficent and her daughter before the girl could assume her mother’s throne.
