Attention Creators (fancontent/original or both), here’s a lifehack for ya:
VIEW YOUR CONTENT THROUGH THE EYES OF THE BEHOLDER
Lemme elaborate- If you’re a writer, put away that editor’s brain for a bit and enjoy the story as if somebody else wrote it. Like you were clicking through AO3, or walking down a library isle, found something you liked, then decided to read it. Ignore the mistakes and just enjoy it for the ride If you’re an artist, put away that critiquing mindset for a bit and praise the work as if somebody else drew it. Like you were scrolling down Instagram or Twitter, or something hanging in a neighbor’s window, then decided to take a bit longer to appreciate it. Ignore the mistakes and just love how it looks. If you’re a musician, put away that criticizing ear for a bit and listen to the piece as if somebody else made it. Like you found yourself on a suggested playlist on Spotify or Youtube, or listening to the radio on the way to work, then decided to pay a little bit more attention to it. Ignore the mistakes and just let yourself feel.
