My internship: hey so i sent you an email about a new brand that we're doing press for but we need a press release so it'd be great if you could write one. okay, thanks!

me, someone who only had 1 hour, during my entire 2 and a half years studying, spent on changing a press release to an article and NOT MAKING A PRESS RELEASE MYSELF: .... okay, sounds great!

cue the absolute mortification because I CAN'T FUCKING DO THIS??????? I'VE NEVER WRITTEN A PRESS RELEASE????? I CAN'T DO THIS???????

Y’all should see the look on people’s faces at my internship when I tell them I know Bruce Wayne, the Big Boss, and that he’s not exactly what they expect.

This happens a lot:

Other interns: *whispering about Bruce Wayne* Other interns: Oh he’s super intimidating! Other interns: He’s like six-foot-two and a freaking ripped two-hundred-fifteen pounds! He could crack my head with his pinky! Other interns: Did you hear about the thing that happened the other week? Other interns: Yeah I heard there was some scandal... Me: I hate to be that person, but actually *corrects the rumors they’ve heard* Me: *rumors are actually greatly exaggerated* So yeah, he’s not that intimidating at all. Especially when he trips on his son’s cat coming or looks absolutely dead over a morning cup of coffee. Other interns: How do you know that?! Me: He’s my boyfriend’s dad. Other interns: He’s your boyfriend’s WHAT?!

Today at my internship I was sent home 5 hours early cause no one knows what to do with me. The two and a half hours before that I spent listening to a speech that didn't even have anything to do with psychology. So far I got to sit in a lot of conferences where a lot of patients where discussed and where they were granted more help. Which is great and all but it means I spend most my days sitting around reading the files to prepare myself and then it's more sitting around and watching. It is kinda boring so far.

I’ve moved up in my internship! I am no longer doing the boring filing work! Now I get to actually help around the office in a way that doesn’t involve fetching coffee. I’m shadowing this manager lady who, like, organizes and plans things. She’s asked me about my opinions on stuff and we’ve done a lot of math. It’s been interesting. I’m still not going into business but dang this is good experience.

Finally finished my internship and i feel conflicted

On one hand, I was the one who didnt want to continue because I know I have a very intense uni semester ahead, and I barely survived this one. I also know I don't want to pursue that branch of law and want to get a spring internship more focused in IP.

At the same time... I liked what I was doing and I had responsibility. Plus, it was a source of income directly related to law (unlike tutoring or babysitting), and I really enjoyed working there.

That is to say, I'm moving forward, but the steps hurt more than I expected
