I was waiting for the moment when Neil (Astarion's voice actor) would finally complete Stari's personal quest. He hadn't done it until the very end, so whether he would choose the lord/spawn remained a mystery. Although I believed that he would take the path of freedom, because Neil kept saying that he really got into his character and empathize with him. I'm incredibly glad that it confirmed and he was really touched in this emotional scene.

Random Rui Headcanons I have (more serious I guess????) until proven otherwise and even then some I may just turn a blind eye to LMFAO you can’t stop me

- His eyes were not always ‘pale ruby’ and that is a development from his recent curse

- He cannot die of natural causes you will literally have to physically kill him and even then I’m still just unsure I think he’s straight up just becoming an actual reaper so ?????

- He was formerly in Ultio he has become what he had imprisoned thanks

- Him and Haku are actual besties and conniving together they have that lame contest to see who can get more girls numbers

- He has a very deep and complicated relationship with Ed he complains about him so much but also dude out here doing THE MOST for Ed

- He took up gardening after he was cursed as a way to cope and also because someone had to do it and we all know Ed wasn’t going to do it

- He actually enjoys gardening because he can ‘bring things to life’ rather than killing it in an instant touch and it’s very grounding for him

Some slightly LESS serious ones but that I also kinda take seriously (as in I doubt these will ever come into fruition but listen LMFAO)

- Rui contacted a demon at some wild ass party and that’s how he became a ghoul lead into my 7/11 headcanon with this one because LMFAO I can

- When he first met Ed and touched him he PANICKED and tried to burry Ed because he legit thought he was DEAD so when Ed came back he was like scared and relieved and stressed and a lot of emotions came out at that

- Sorry but he’s not gonna be forever straight in my eyes. He’s gonna one day cave in and be like ‘okay Ed can KIND of touch me without permanent repercussions AKA death and I am a starved man so I can be a little less straight for him’

Anyways these are just MY thoughts and IDC what anyone else thinks or says or feels about this cause listen I have too much time to think specifically about Rui.

I really don't agree with how Marc is the Traveller and Jake is the Embracer as stated in the comics. I see it as the reverse, where Jake is the Traveller and Marc is the Embracer.

Why? Marc started taking in Reese to work for him, then Soldier, then talked to 8-ball. He "embraced" them, like Marc is trying to emulate what he thinks Khonshu should be. A "guiding figure" who embraces the lost. And those who he embraces stay with him. Embracing him in return.

Literally, there is a scene where Marc hugs Reese, Tigra hugs Marc. Actual Embracing. That should have been very obvious.

AND the fact that Reese, Soldier and maybe 8-balll then embraces the image of Mr. Knight. The same way Marc embraces the role of the "Khonshu" for the Midnight Mission.

Everything about him is Embracing, metaphorically and literally.

Metaphorically since by Embracing others, Marc can also stop feeling lonely. There is comfort in embracing, and Marc is shown to do it to comfort others. Though it is also a way for him to comfort himself as deep down, he craves others to stay with him. Especially since most of his old friends and allies left. And Khonshu is in jail.

Marc is a sad lonely man who wants to embrace and be embraced. And don't want to let go. Even the people he recruited into the Midnight Mission was influenced by this inability to let go. They embraced him and won't let him go.

Sure they saw Marc die (this will change as usual), but they still didn't let him go. They won't let go of this image of Marc, the same way Marc won't let go of the mantle of being Moon Knight.

Which isn't exactly healthy because it is already bordering or is co-dependence.

Edit: Really, He is starting his own cult. And he may not realize it, but he is being seen as a type of god to them. A Personality Cult that worships him. Not Khonshu, him as the "god". A Jesus/Messiah figure in some twisted parody of Monotheism. Because if you are really devoted to someone as savior-figure, you turn it to a religion.

And Jake is a Cab driver, it is his job to travel and not be stationary. He keeps moving, he keeps travelling around New York. So Jake should be the Traveller purely because of the nature of what he does. Sure he helps them, but he also doesn't overly attach them to him. He comes and goes when and how he likes. Like the wind that keeps moving at it's own pace and helping the people he meets. Regardless of their class status. And most of them are the lower class that are left behind in society.

By not being overly attached, Jake can keep on moving and not confine himself to a single spot. Like some travelling sage or something who refuses to stay put.

There is freedom in travelling and Jake, with whatever little time he is allowed when he fronts. He doesn't have much time since Marc is pretty much tend to monopolize the body. Jake may feel imprisoned, since he pretty much is, so the moment he is travelling in his cab, he relishes every second of it.

Jake just wants the freedom to be himself and help others with it by his own accord.

That and Marc is pretty much limited to a place in New York. He is confined and can't travel outside of the city without alerting the Avengers. He doesn't travel, other's travel to him. Which is the opposite of what travelling is supposed to be.

Marc has to wait for the people to come to him. He waits. He should be called the Waiter, not the Traveller.

It isn't Marc, but Jake who embodies the concept of the Traveller, both literally, and metaphorically.

I think that Alison will give birth in the Christmas Special and once the baby is born, Alison will stop seeing the Ghosts.

To me, the start of episode 1 was heavy foreshadowing and while the Ghosts will still see Alison, Mike and the baby, it will only be one-sided now.

Thoughts on Bakarina and her dense-ness

One reason I think I really like Bakarina is how consistent she is in her faults. What I mean is, a lot of the plot happens because she doesn’t pick up on/understand things, and whenever it happens you nod and go “Yup that’s Bakarina” because, her being dense doesn’t only happen whenever Plot Shenanigans need to occur. It’s not like she goes around being an intelligent plotter/a strong-willed person with her own agenda/a complete normie and then, at critical moments, seems to go “Ooops, lost all my previous IQ/EQ” and make moronic decisions.

  Especially with the setting that she (kinda) has extra, in-depth knowledge of the main cast because of having played the game, her NOT being a dense idiot could end up making her look manipulative. Which isn’t bad in itself, that’d be an interesting and IMHO justified stance, but what would annoy me is if we swing between “Because of my game knowledge I will move with unparalleled subtlety to get the outcome I want/sidestep the outcome I don’t want” and “But I totally missed that!” and “I am too soft-hearted to not engage with the crying younger form of the person who will kill me but a few pages ago I was totally ready to ignore him and in a few pages I will be trying not to engage with him again!”

 There’s another series I like a lot, not exactly similar but with parallel elements, and the character is NOT quite like Katarina, and her intelligence is also consistent and a plot point. I like her a lot. BUT in a later volume she begins doing some Katarina-esque things and I flinched, I grit my teeth. And that made me consider why I don’t like it in her, but I have no issues when Katarina has similar character beats/events.

The opposite of what I’m talking about is, for example, a character who is adorably clumsy and nervous, and keeps tripping face-first into a male lead’s chest and having events where she twists her ankle and has to be carried home, and she loses her bag so the male lead has to help her, etc. - but also she’s an Olympic athlete in gymnastics and whenever there’s no event where being clumsy would get her a meet-cute etc. she moves with grace and has all the cool points associated with that, and she’s admired in the series for being a gold medalist. 

I mean obviously it’s possible to take it too far and I also don’t like it when Katarina is not just dense but, like, brain-dead. But that doesn’t really occur that often.

Going on this, I love reading fics where she grows and reveals hidden depths. I honestly don’t think she’s that stupid really, in canon, she has logic (weird as it is) behind her decisions, she does pick up on things, she is mid-ranked in school (even if it is because all her high-spec friends tutor her, that is still something she earns on her own merits). 

But her density is part of the reason she’s one of my favorite characters, I think.

I might be reaching here, but I think Case 3 is also a nod to Seven Samurai by Kurosawa. Kogami represents the noble samurai that fights not for money, but for justice. Like the seven Samurai in Kurosawa’s film who are persuaded to defend a little farming village that can’t pay for security and is constantly raided. It’s such a beautiful film. And seeing the character of Mifune playing with the children of the village reminds me of Ko’s relationship with Tenzing.

The book Tenzing is reading is also about Samurai.

if the office had a reunion movie:

- dunder mifflin celebrates its anniversary by getting back in the ny stock exchange and david wallace invites all the old dunder mifflin branches for a party in new york

- michael scott is more matured and very happy with holly and his kids (knowing how his arc closed) and probably becomes an investor or something lmao

- jim and pam are now rich and successful because athleap became a success and pam became a famous children’s book illustrator (also they have three or four kids)

- dwight and angela run schrute farms alongside working for dunder mifflin and are the weird but interesting couple they are

- stanley’s a grandpa now

- phyllis and bob vance adopt a child or something

- meredith is shown to fully redeem herself

- creed... is creed.

- kelly and ryan could still have a weird on-again off-again thing (but are weirdly endearing now)

- andy works at cornell and has been divorced once (don’t ask why)

- dunno i see erin single or engaged to someone *who isn’t pete*

- the whole movie is not a mockumentary, and the only part that is a mockumentary is the dunder mifflin anniversary party

- there has to be a conflict for this movie to work and i’m thinking it’s about dunder mifflin because it just seems right for the plot to work (and yes, i know i made it seem like dunder mifflin is successful again because of the first point i made but what if it suddenly takes another hit)
