Alright part of my feet got cut off and I was totally to lazy / my booty was on fire and couldn't do anymore 😂😂😂 but you guys this is one of my favorite corrective exercises to fire up the stability muscles of your pelvis (what's up glute med!?) I do these before running or my yoga practice and it's amazing how much more my pelvis feels "held in". After years of stretching my ligaments / joints and now learning to undo that and use muscular engagement I swear to you my pelvis feels brand spanking new and my low back pain is very minimal! Put a resistance band around your ankles (make sure to pick a band with the appropriate resistance). Stand at a wall (think starting position is Tadasana) or put something under /against your hands for balance. Take the leg away from your midline (hip abduction) and then come back to the starting position (hip adduction). Then for gluteus Maximus (this muscle produces hip extension) start in the same position but bring the leg straight back...this movement will not be very big, hip extension is a little movement (but will give you a very big booty burn 😂😂). Watch out for the pelvis wanting to excessively anterior tilt (it's a constant battle for myself) and the foot that is abducting... It might try to turn out a lot, try to keep it parallel :)!
