Buddy System | Nick & Alice|

Nick knew he shouldn't be here once again he promised her that. He would keep his distance after she made it clear about. How uneasy she felt when she found out that. He made it a habit to watch her from afar without her knowledge, and he had kept that promise till now. At first Nick didn't know what to do when Manny turned up missing. He patrolled the city for the whole night when the news reached him. But he had no luck and he was warned by both commanders not to go and lose his shit. Because he was on the verge of going on a rampage to find his partner. But he was told that they needed to handle the situation in a calm like manner, and Nick was fine with that till two more powerful and very capable metas went missing.

That made the gears in his head start to turn. He felt like he was losing control over a situation. He never had control over in the first place and he needed to find a way to get ahead. And that's why he was outside of Nuts & Bolts now. For the past two weeks whenever he was off he made sure to come here and keep watch over Alice. If any Meta was going to be a target for these monsters. It was going to be her she was way too vulnerable especially considering how late she closed shop. If he was working he made sure to fly by throughout the day and night while patrolling. So far Alice had yet to catch him watching over her. Which was a surprise considering he wasn't trying to hide who he was. But then again most of the time he was in his C.A.R.M.A gear, and she probably wasn't aware that he joined. But today they made eye contact just as he was returning from grabbing a coffee from across the street. He quickly broke eye contact and turned around.

This was the most shitty situation Kelli had ever found herself in, and that included being stuck in CARMA and an abusive ex-boyfriend. Having her identity as Firehawk revealed to the whole fucking world was bad enough but to lose her powers too? To have them ripped away by some deranged human supremacists, it made her feel violated and furious.

Since she got checked out by the medical professionals and informed multiple times, they had no idea how to get her powers back, Kelli had been hiding in the Heroes’ base. It was the one place she felt safe still. That didn’t keep the outside world from trying to find her though.

While she tried taking out her aggression on one of the punching bags in the training area her phone almost continuously was ringing or notifying her of new messages, all from unknown numbers flooding her with even more questions that she neither wanted to face nor answer.

“Leave me the fuck alone!” she couldn’t help but shout as she threw her cellphone as hard as she possibly could against the nearest wall, causing it to shatter on impact and the cheerful tune to die. Kelli let out a small sigh of relief when silence filled the room before she noticed one of her teammates in the doorway. “Sorry….I didn’t mean you.”

“I didn’t think you did, lovely,” Jude chuckled with a tinge of bitterness.  Her face, however, was nothing but sympathetic.  Being outed to the entirety of Pansaw was bad enough, much less publicly losing her powers to boot.  So often Metas seemed to build their sense of self around their abilities.  She wasn’t certain if Kelli was one of those, but she imagined anyone would feel lost if they were suddenly without their powers.

“How are you holding up?” came the gentle query, sliding into the room and perching on one of the weight lifting benches.  She would never push her fellow Hero Squad member to open up about the entirety of what were likely swirling emotions, but she wanted Kelli to at least know that Jude was there if needed.  “Spill the beans or attempted distraction?”  If she went for the latter, well ... Jude had some ideas.

David’s mind was a buzz with thoughts as he sat alone at the bar of his favorite dive. Plans were coming into place just as predicted and soon he would be ready to take the next step. He was lost in his ideas with just the enjoyable buzz of alcohol to keep him company until he felt a new presence beside him. Pushing away the thoughts like papers into a suitcase, David took a long sip of his rum and coke before turning to the person beside him. “What are you drinking?” he asked, preparing to order for his new companion. 

“A Modelo Negra,” she both asked the bartender and answered David in one sentence, taking a seat on the bar stool next to the man.  Having just closed Besos up and no one at H.A.M.E.R. expecting her for an hour or so, the chef had found herself with some rare free time on her hands.  Apparently her predilection for dive bars was shared by the leader of their movement, one elbow resting on the bar top as Lupe looked him up and down.  “Long day at the other job, boss man?”

Today was Skye’s first official day as a C.A.R.M.A. field agent and she was practically buzzing with energy. Three years of self-training finally paid off and she didn’t want to mess this up. However this was the first time she was actually in the building proper and found herself a little confused on where to go.

“Excuse me, this is my first day. Am I going the right way?” she asked someone nearby who surely must have been around longer than her and could point her in the right direction.

Rowan’s nose had been all but pressed against her clipboard as she wandered the halls of C.A.R.M.A.  As much as her day-to-day research enriched her, the pet project that Hayden had approved was what drove her and she was poring over the results of her last DNA analysis when an unfamiliar voice caught her attention.

Looking both ways to ensure that she was the person being spoken to, she pressed the clipboard to her chest as her head tilted in contemplation.  “Well, that all depends on where you’re trying to go.  Is it the right way towards the cafeteria?  Sure.  Right way towards the labs?  Not quite.”

At first it just felt like another day in Pansaw when Nick first woke up. But once his eyes really adjusted to his surroundings. He bolted up realizing that he was not in his apartment or napping in the C.A.R.M.A lounge. But the room he was did seem to jog some memories. It reminded him of the old Rebel Base, and that's when he remembered. The whole time travel to the future plan. He wasn't on the list to go though which meant something must have went wrong. Nick wouldn't be surprised if all of Pansaw made the time travel list because of the malfunction. His future didn't seem that bad from what he could see. The Rebels were back and somehow he was let back in. But he wasn't sure if he was still in C.A.R.M.A or not.

Nick wandered through his room trying to piece together his life. When his eyes settled on a giant portrait on the wall. It was his grandparents and there was a date at the bottom with a few words. He realized it was an eulogy as he read them, and his whole world came crashing down. The only family he had left was dead tears slipped from his eyes. As he let out a roar and sent his fist through the wall. With his back against the wall he slid down to sit on the floor. The door to his room opened and relief flooded through him. At the sight of Alice standing there "I guess I got you to thank for this." He gestured to the whole room. "I don't see how else I got back in. What a future huh?

Drunk Confessions || Nick & Alice

Nick was drunk and he didn’t want to admit it not right now while he was having so much fun partying with strangers. After another night of bouncing his boss decided he needed a break and to have fun. So he told Nick to just relax and have all the fun he wanted. That he wouldn’t have to worry about paying for anything, so of course things got a little out of hand. He didn’t pay his state of mind any attention till someone yelled “awesome eye makeup.” At that very moment Nick pushed his way through the crowd to get to the bathroom. Just llike he thought his eyes had gone draconic. He did his best to turn them back to normal but he was out of control. Which meant it was time to go.

Nick grabbed his jacket and the bouncer wrote his address down on his hand for him. Because at the moment he wasn’t even sure if he knew where he lived. Maybe he should’ve took the offer to have a cab take him home. But the club wasn’t that far from his apartment. He could walk or well stumble his way home, or he could just fly. No one ever said don’t drink and fly even if they did what did he care? He was a fucking Rebel breaking the rules is what he is best at. His wings unfolded from his back, and for a second he was just happy that he could still control those.

He launched himself into the evening sky and willed his wings to go. For the first few minutes everything was going smoothly. Then his wings just went haywire like they lost connection to his brain. Because they stopped working out of nowhere, and he found himself plummeting to the ground. Nick crashed into the pavement on his stomach, and pain exploded to his body. Yeah he was pretty durable so nothing was broken but the fall still hurt. He groaned in pain as he pulled himself into a sitting position. That’s when he realized that he had landed in front of someone. “My bad there friend and please excuse the eyes powers are getting a little out control right now. But I’ll be home soon if I could actually read this paper with my address on it. Just one question are there three moons in the sky or am I that drunk?”

Jude hadn’t been on the Hero Squad for long, but she found her life had gotten that much more exciting since joining up.  Putting together her alter-ego’s outfit had been particularly enjoyable, the wings on her ‘uniform’ so similar to the white pair on the back of her neck.  But weaponry?  Weaponry was still a blank spot.  It wasn’t something she much bothered with, barely seeing the need seeing as she was a weapon all on her own.  She’d wandered into the armory, fingers dancing across the various weaponry available to her before opting for a telescoping bo staff and heading into the training room to try it out.

It felt awkward in her hands as she tried various strikes and blocks, looking up in embarrassment when she realized she was no longer alone.  “You caught me, Firehawk.  I am apparently useless when it comes to weapons.”

Send 🎄 to decorate for Christmas with my muse.

“I found ‘em!” Finn exclaimed from the other room in his mother’s home. A second later about three boxes appeared with puffs of shadows in the living room before the Christmas tree. Finn popped back in the room, holding the angel tree topper. He didn’t care how old he was or what, he’d always come over to help his mom decorate the Christmas tree just like when he and Axel were kids. “Hey, I know it’s Axel’s year to put the angel on the tree, but since he’s not here for this, I think I should do it this time and next year. I think that’s fair, right, mom?”
