Gaara x Yukiko

🍃 NARUTO SHIPPUDEN // FEW MONTHS BEFORE SHIPPUDEN 🍃 Gaara and Yukiko just met again after years. Ino had managed to get them to be just together in a chill place. They are getting to discover each other again, what happened in their lives during those years. After all Gaara has just become Kazekage and that’s a real glow up. Yukiko was genuinely happy and proud of him. But she remained very secret about what happened in HER life. « Well nothing much actually. I haven't grown that much since last time! Quite boring, isn’t it? ».  Despite her smiling and doing humour and all … He found that there was something about her eyes that was more sad. After all, if everything was ok, why would she have run away from the Land of Iron? But Gaara knows she is too proud to admit it. He won’t get anything from her by forcing her to open. But he still wanted to make sure she knew he would listen to her when she’s ready to talk about it. Gaara’s words genuinely touched Yuki. How adorable! But as she was raised she smiled and hid her problems. She was raised by her clan’s Dean to be « a good girl » who doesn’t cause any trouble to men, who doesn’t show her tears and hid it behind a polite smile. The Dean was aware about Yukiko’s father abusing her. This should remain secret so she doesn’t spoil the clan’s honour. Honour above all… The Dean had to find a way to make sure Yukiko wouldn’t spill the truth, so she made sure to « break » her by shaming her. Reminding her constantly that she must remain strong, docile, lovely… Same shit she brainwashed Yukiko’s mother with.

Yukiko’s kekkai genkai

YUKIKO’S KEKKAI GENKAI — conventional use — Yukiko’s jutsu is a thorn release. It works on the principle of giving life to the plant with her chakra. Nevertheless, its interesting to notice that even Yukiko's production wasn't only about thorns. During childhood it was ivy that surrounded the Nakamura fort, and as she started to suffer from the abuses and locked herself in silence, ivy turned into brambles, imprisoning the fort. How does it work ? Yukiko controls thorns, that she can grow from the ground, feeding itself from her chakra, and taking roots in the ground. Each plants have her chakra running through their roots, so she can move them, they even seem to be alive. The ones that are grey and dry are static and don’t have her chakra in. These are green. In fact her control is often more uncouncious than voluntary, she sometimes had the feeling the thorns were beings with their own will. After all they react if she feels attacked, and can.influence her decisions according to her subconscious. Fun fact : when she is around Gaara, and since their first meeting, some red flowers blossom from her thorns. Limits : When she is deprived of sun or water her thorns are less solid, and aren't mobile, whereas when she if healthy, they can grow strong, lively and move as she wants. As its very subconscious sometimes she cant use it as she would want to ! Pros ? Its a super protection against people, a real shell with thorns. She can also use it to protect people, closed spaces or objects. Since she protected the inhabitants of one of the village of her country during an attack, she got the nickname "Queen of Thorns". There is another use of her jutsu, way less conventional and strictly forbidden, a real taboo. But it can be used for necromancy with the environing plants as a toll. But this will be the subject of another post ! ;) This is a redraw of a piece I drew in October 2019. I actually simplified the drawing a lot.

Obviously these two don’t know the existence of text messages. 😒 Boomers ! So this is a little post to show their way of communicating when they’re not physically together. 🌺 Gaara is conscious of the fact he is not very talkative and not always expressive regarding his feelings for Yukiko. So he tries to show her, another way, by little attentions that he thinks of her. The sand heart is just one example but I wanted to portray a cute scene between these two showing that regardless of the distance that can separate them sometimes, the difference in their personality and his modesty in terms of feelings, they still can communicate. (This is impossible to do it that way when Yukiko is in Land of Iron of course !) As you may know red flowers blossom in Yukiko’s thorns when Gaara is around. So sometimes he can see brambles with red flowers climbing to the Kazekage building, or to his window or balcony. The part of Yukiko is a drawing I made for another project that I decided to reuse here because I had an idea of cute scene between these two. You’ll soon see the big picture I’m talking about soon, hopefully. A big collage of Yukiko I hope to be able to post on the 29th of December for Yukiko’s bday ! ♥

Happy Birthday Yukiko

I really wanted to post this piece on the day of her birthday, it really felt like a big achievement for me. I started working on this huge piece in September and literally finished it yesterday ! I think it's the piece that I worked the most time on ! xD The bg, the composition, the cleaning and colouring of the poses ... Idk why I wanted to make some kind of compilation of Yukiko with her Airi sword. Nevermind I feel like it's royal for her bday ! I wanted to draw this big chaotic piece of her kind of to thank her in a way. Ik it may seem weird bc Yukiko is a fictional character, but she's brought sm joy and happiness in my life. She boosted my creativity like no other OCs never did. She gave me comfort and fun to draw. Sometimes I even think she is some kind of sweet reassuring big sister entity to me, even if I'm technically the one who gave her life ! xD I feel like she helped me overcome some of my burdens and most importantly she allowed me to met amazing friends like you in here ! So yeah thanks Yukiko, thanks Charlotte for pushing me to create a Naruto OC again back then. Thanks for everyone who support me, from the start when my art was kinda inexperienced, to nowadays where I still learn from you each days. You have all been motivating me, supporting me, being so dedicated and inspiring with your beautiful stories, ocs, style. I love this community sm and I wanna say it ! Thanks to everyone for making this day incredible already !
