Exactly, I can’t figure how to phrase it as an instruction to include it... here, Imma show you the WIP list... I’ve got a few I’m deciding on, so feel free to chime in with any tired tropes you’re sick of seeing.... ooh, and @sidebysideinsilence and @raspberrymama too, y’all chime in... any of y’all following can chime in, of course, I’m just going blank... anyhoo here’s the list so far (with some unfinished/some phrasing that needs tweaks).... There is a random man who happens to be named Sam Winchester but is otherwise unrecognizable 4. ABO = in heat early drama + large dick drama 5. AU = royalty + commoner 6. Warnings = every possible mental issue 7. Y/N is hurt on a hunt 8. Y/N lives in the bunker 9. Y/N behaves so immaturely, she is likely jailbait 10. Someone is "carding" hair 11. Someone's body part "stutters" 12. Someone looks up at someone else through their eyelashes 13. Someone's flaws are what makes them perfect 14. Y/N is pregnant & the lead male is acting like an idiot 15. Demon Dean is sensitive, considerate, and romantic 16. Someone takes care of Y/N during illness/injury 17. Dean/Sam quit hunting, all to have an apple pie life with Y/N 18. Someone has amnesia 19. Wincest = ___ + ___ 20. Destiel = ___ + ___ 21. something about humor/satire fails 22. something about plot to smut ratio 23. 24. 25.

A Good Thought For All Of Us: Just Write, Write, Write

Yes, this helps lots! I wasn't sure how close the story needs to be to either one... guess it all depends, then. I tend to overthink, when what I should really do is just write. Thanks again!

@casafrass had a great point here, I bet lots of y’all can empathize - I know I sure can! I think of ol’ Jenna up there in that gif, partly because it speaks to my warped sense of humor but also because I thought - wow, what I’d pay to see that first draft. And children’s book, so it’s thematic. (Y’all please don’t write about baby hookers - I’m *so* gonna get in trouble with @littlegreenplasticsoldier and @deandoesthingstome if you do.😆)

In any event, you’re right - I heartily believe trying out ideas, even ones as nutty as Jenna’s, is what’ll get us to the goods. Once you see it “on paper”, as it were,  you’ll intuitively know what to start trashing vs. what to keep, to start fleshing out. Picturing stuff in our minds is the starting point, yet something about getting eyes on the situation (a.k.a. - “seeing is believing”), having that tangible experience, often makes it “click” better *.

So, a tip from me personally to y’all? If you’re indecisive and/or find yourself hitting walls?

Try pounding out some bullet points of things you for sure want to include (like how you want it to begin and end) and/or knocking out some scenes you for sure want to include (dialogue, something specific you want your characters to see, etc.) first, then see if the rest starts to fall into place around them.

If you’ve never drafted a story this way? Give it a try. It might not be a trick you’ll use regularly in the future, but at least you’re getting stuff out of your head and organized, uncorking it, letting it breathe. - Nash

* Blah blah blah scientific stuff blah - it’s why personal experiences often hold more weight than all the cautionary “When I was your age...” tales from adults when we’re kids, or all the statistics in the world when we’re adults - “seeing is believing” and such. 

I suspect way-back-when, even though they didn’t have the data for this (scientific method for things outside the lab wasn’t really popular or well done til a smart soul started tracking public health - enough plagues patient zeroes will tend to kick asses into gear, as Ellen Harvelle might put it), they found that as they started injecting said cautionary tales into children’s books, having not-your-parents, not-your-teacher, not-your-clergy spewing the warnings - then dialing some scary, wet-your-pants stuff up to eleven - it started hitting home with the kiddos.

Fear is a powerful motivator, to be sure. I’m glad that in more modern times, we kept some of it, but veiled it more, and made sure to toss in plenty of hope. Dreams and wishes are important, too. 🧙‍♂️️️️️️️️ ✨ 👸 🐸 🤴 💘 🧜‍♀️

What’s your point? How is this helpful? While I’m at it, forgive me but who are you? Do we know each other?

Have we conversed at some point to a degree you believe our dynamic to be of such a collegial nature that I’d be amenable to having this level of harsh tone directed at my person?

Being public has nothing to do with it - if I created it, and hung it in a public gallery, not for sale but for viewing only, and the expressed desire of me, the creator, was communicated clear-as-a-bell that reproduction is not allowed, then that’s it. Period. Being in a different format (digital) in a different environment (internet) changes nothing with respect to the ethics. It shouldn’t have to be expressed explicitly, it should be implicitly clear that we don’t take things that aren’t ours and post them elsewhere allowing others to believe it is ours, but I nevertheless made it explicit. 

My screenname is on it, by the way, it’s at the bottom. It’s also already been cross-posted on my Instagram, months ago. and I think my twitter, too if memory serves. So if you would like to be helpful in some manner since you appear to be invested in this matter for whatever reason, please do alert me to any theft of this piece on any other platform that you may spot, that’s a communication which would be met with appreciation versus irritation.
