I feel really good about this and I'm glad I can draw again! 💙🧡🌌✨
cutely draws em in wedding fits :3
Even though I'm an astrophysicist (in a current Project Hail Mary hyperfixation 🚀✨💙👎), so far I've only done one piece of actual space art, a nebula & star cluster watercolour for the 2023 IG Spacetober challenge ✨🌟💫🌌. I quite enjoyed doing this painting, and adding the stars with white paint splashes and a toothbrush was so satisfying 🎨✨. Definitely want to make more space art in general (and Project Hail Mary fanart in particular). Also featuring bi colours, so happy Pride month 😁💖💜💙!
🎨Media: Watercolours (white watercolour for the star splatters)
🌟Reference: None per se, but I based the technique for this particular nebula painting on one of Vanessa_paints_ (IG/YouTube) 's nebula tutorials.

So I've always loved doing space backgrounds, but I've never given drawing an actual existing nebula a go until now. First attempt and I'm quite happy with the result.
Enjoy the Pillars of Creation. Painted by me in Clip Studio Paint.
Hey StarSouls!
Behold! The Shooting Star Dragon travels through the universe, leaving behind a trail of nebulas in its wake. As old as the universe itself, The Shooting Star Dragon helps paint the beauty of our universe, and help grant wishes of thoes who are lucky enough to spot it within the night sky, far from the rest of society.
This was an art swap with my good friends @the-void-dragons ! It was a piece that I definitely pushed myself with.
How? Well, it was my first time drawing a dragon in a very long time. I also tried to go for a very painterly watercolour effect. I only used three watercolour brushes and worked from there. And I am proud of it. I am also really proud of how the wings turned out. The colours look great!
I hope you love this piece as much as I do StarSouls! Remember to hydrate and take a walk if you can.

Ending the year with this nebula painting, 🌌 the result of having played around more with oils this year 🎨
See you in 2026! 🎆
