You ever think about how Chronic Sonic feels about Tails being forced to take care of him and he sometimes can't do the stuff he used to help Tails with before?
Oh yeah he has a TimeTM with it. Can’t hear Tails complain about missing a wrench and run to the store and back to get it for him in under five minutes. Can’t hear him lament not having access to a certain type of metal and taking a quick jog halfway across the world where he remembered seeing a chunk of it to pick it up for him. Can’t see a picture of a place and just go check it out without checking with Tails and asking for a ride first. Can’t just go places like he’s always done, free to breathe in salty sea air and then weave through living breathing jungles the next minute. Instead he has to sit and wait for Tails to finish checking his heart monitor and watch him spend all his time working on things to help him while he can’t help him back. He can’t go get what Tails needs to complete the inhibitors before Tails even has to think about asking. Tails has to ask Shadow to do that for him. How jarring it is to notice Tails wants ice cream and go to get him some and realize abruptly halfway out of door that it would take him a week to get back with it, and that’s only if he managed the full distance without an episode. Tails isn’t actually being forced to look after Sonic, but it sure feels like it to Sonic when he’s watching Tails pull all nighters and try to hide the bags under his eyes by wearing his safety goggles all the time.
