Crazy Rich Asians: Nick Young is TRASH!

These days I keep watching Crazy Rich Asians and Nick is such a DICK! He is such a jerk for keeping Rachel in the dark about his wealth.

In the beginning I understood that Nick wanted Rachel to love him for who he is and not for his wealth and that was the main reason why he didn't tell her the truth... but after not telling her after being together for a whole year while also preparing to pop the question was just WRONG!

He didn't hide the truth to protect Rachel, he did it to protect himself. Nick failed to protect Rachel throughout the ENTIRE movie.

He didn't tell her about his family's wealth until they arrived at the airport, but he only told her a shred of the truth. Rachel didn't learn just how truly powerful or wealthy his family really was until she was told by her collage best friend!

Since he neglected to tell Rachel about his family, she wasn't prepared to meet them. Example; If she had gone to the welcoming party in her original outfit, she would've been SEVERELY undressed for the occasion and would've been more mocked than she already was. (And AGAIN Peik Lin saved her by providing her with a appropriate outfit for the occasion.)

Last and worst of all, Nick didn't protect her from the wrath of his mother who immediately disapproved of Rachel the moment she first heard of her. Instead of defending the girl he loves and hoped to marry, Nick let his mother walk all over Rachel while also making excuses for her behavior!

Honestly if he really loved Rachel then he would've trusted her with the truth much sooner instead of waiting until the last possible moment, throwing her to the wolves and letting them have their fun while he did NOTHING to help or protect her till the Very Last Moment! (Heck Rachel's friend is rich and Rachel likes her for who she is and not her wealth!)
