“You don’t know this song? It was everywhere back in the early 2000s!” Nico said with a grin. He kind of recognized her from the cafe, and he waved at her despite her being in front of him. “I’m flying high! I believe I can fly! I believe I can touch the sky!” He laughed. “That’s another song. You know that one?”

Nico knew he had to be more consistent at work. With all the drinking, he’d slacked off and he was honestly lucky that Cordelia hadn’t fired him. But now he had a baby to provide for, so he was back at work, doing his best to stay sober, as he picked up extra shifts. It was exhausting.
“Hey, uh, is this your order?” he asked the girl sitting at the table. “Sorry, I kinda blanked.”
