Here’s a random AU idea for a dead fandom: Big Love.

During season 3 after the funeral and Nicki is kicked out of Wanda’s and Joey’s house she decides to drive home instead. But J.J. sees her leave and the have a confrontation, Nicki being in a bad mood sets him off. Short car chase later Nicki is run off the road and flees on foot to flag down a car and escapes, leaving a wrecked car with some of her blood in it.

A few days later the Hendricksons get the police at their door. Nicki’s car registered in their name was found crashed and they are trying to see if it’s a kidnapping, murder or something else. And Bill is top suspect.

Meanwhile Nicki has gone into hiding feeling abandoned and hunted, has hitchhiked to Iowa working as a farm hand. She proves effective as a problem solver and sends occasional letters back to her old homes letting them know she is alive. But is too afraid of J.J. to give a return address. It at least clears up the Hendricksons investigation.
