Random but damn ASOIAF/GOT really went out of it's why to villainize mental illness.
Like all the characters with mental illness were labled "mad", considered villains and needed to be rid off. From Targaryens to Lysa.
I'll never forget how D&D practically said that "madness" runs in Daenerys family and therefore it was inevitable she'd be a villain.
And within the story, no character offered to help them. Instead they all stood by, watched, judged and opted to isolate them. Some even used it as an advantage to manipulate.
It literally goes, "Oh, they're crazy! Lets watch or trigger the deterioration of their mental health. Then when they fuck up, we killed them and call the killers heros."
